"Paramedics avoiding ‘Who is the Prime Minister?’ mental alertness question – because it’s too confusing"

"Queensland paramedic Greg Abood told the newspaper he chose to stop using the question about a year ago. “We would ask patients that question because it gave us an idea of their conscious level and ability to recall events,” Mr Abood said."
“But the country’s prime ministers are changing so often, it’s no longer a good indication of their mental status.” He claimed a patient had once responded “I haven’t watched the news today”, after being asked the question.

There will always be poverty and wealth, so no shame should come from their existence. A country well governed provides a well worn path from poverty to wealth. The absence of that path or the presence of too many weeds in the way is what should shame. A lot of poison ivy has grown on the American path lately. We need a weed wacker. Who has the weed wacker?

Wealth is nothing to be ashamed of in a mentally healthy country, i.e. a country in which the id of I want what you have and I resent like hell that you have more than me is superseded by the super ego, the internal governor that accepts boundaries.
