A kiss of death

"Teen dies 'after girlfriend's hickey formed blood clot that travelled to brain causing stroke'"
A teen has reportedly died after getting a love bite from his girlfriend that caused him to have a stroke .

Julio Macias Gonzalez started having convulsions at the dinner table with his family in Mexico City after spending an evening with his girlfriend.

Paramedics were dispatched to the scene but the 17-year-old could not be saved.

It is thought that the suction of the love bite – also known as a ‘hickey’ – caused a blood clot that travelled to Julio’s brain and caused him to have a stroke.

His 24-year-old girlfriend has now disappeared and the boy’s parents are apparently now blaming her for his death.

CNN: 'Michigan woman's auto-payments hid her death for six years'

"Neighbors didn't notice anything unusual. The woman traveled a lot, they said, and kept to herself. One of them mowed her grass to keep things looking tidy."
At some point, her bank account ran dry. The bills stopped being paid.

After its warnings went unanswered, the bank holding the mortgage foreclosed on the house, a common occurrence in a region hit hard by economic woes.

Still, nobody noticed what had happened inside the house. Nobody wondered out loud what had become of the owner.

Not until this week, when a worker sent by the bank to repair a hole in the roof made a grisly discovery.

The woman's mummified body was sitting in the back seat of her car, parked in the garage. The key was halfway in the ignition.
Skipping down to the good stuff all the way at the end...
Dr. Bernardino Pacris, the county deputy medical examiner who conducted the autopsy, told the Detroit Free Press that the woman's skin was still intact, but that the internal organs had decomposed.

Bouchard, the country sheriff, noted that her body was inside a closed vehicle inside a closed garage -- and, thus, not exposed to outside air or other factors that might contribute to decomposition.

Pacris told the newspaper that during the mummification process, skin develops a parchment-like consistency and leathery texture. Finding a body in such a condition is unusual, he said, but "once in a while, we see this."
If you disappeared, would anyone miss you?

“It’s an anomaly. No doubt about it”

There were no murders in the five boroughs (NYC) in the seven days ending last Sunday, the mayor’s office said on Monday.

The Grim Reaper took a break this week.”
The last time the city experienced a murder-free week was in the midst of a cold spell last January.

Cops said that 256 murders have taken place in the city in 2013, a sharp decrease from the 346 people that were killed during the same time period in 2012.
The change constitutes a 26 percent drop.

When it comes to crime-fighting, this year could be one for the record books.
For the entire year of 2012, the city logged 419 murders — its lowest total since comparable records have been kept.

Cops: "Man Found Dead In Car Had Just Googled His Symptoms"

DETROIT (WWJ) A man was found dead in the parking lot of Grand Valley State University and police are searching Internet records to determine what killed him.

The body of the man, in his late 30s, was found inside a parked car. He wasn’t a student, but he had been inside the school shortly before he died.

The symptoms were pain and tightness of the chest and sweating.

“Maybe he thought he would just lay down for a minute and feel a little better, but unfortunately he  passed away,” Merrill said.

Police believe the death was from natural causes.
