"Father of Christopher Leinonen speaks out"

The Detroit NewsDetroit native Christopher Andrew Leinonen, 32, was among 49 people killed in Saturday night’s shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando, according to the city of Orlando. His father, Mark Bando, responded to The Detroit News Monday with this letter.
“The website for the city of Orlando, FL has just added my son's name to the list of those killed at the Pulse nightclub shooting, so it has been confirmed.
His name was Christopher Andrew Leinonen, he went by the nickname of 'Drew' and he was gay, a fact I only learned about 5 years ago. While I was not thrilled to learn of his orientation, I accepted it as the way he was pre wired-when born. He was handsome, personable, brilliant and loved vintage movies. He grew-up, got a master's degree and became a practicing psychologist. He was born June 1, 1984.
Chris' mother Christine Leinonen was a MSP state trooper from 1981 to 1990. We were not married when he was conceived and born and he was raised by her as a single parent and he had her last name. After working a decade with MSP, Christine quit and moved down to FL, where she attended law school and became an attorney.
Before reaching high school age, Christopher lived in Macomb Co. and I had regular weekend visitation with him and paid child support for 18 years. His mother moved to FL and took him along, making regular in-person visiting very difficult, in the 1990s.
Chris graduated from Seminole FL High School and got his college degrees from UCF, which is when he began living in the Orlando area. In recent years, I only saw him in person about once per year, when I visited FL, or when he made one of his rare visits to Michigan.
Like his mother, Christopher was very idealistic about the human race, and he did not want to see the evil in the world or even to believe it existed. He used to laugh and joke and tell me I was paranoid, to carry a gun off duty, when I was a Detroit cop. He called me after September 11th, when his world view altered somewhat, after seeing planes fly into the World Trade Center. So he made the giant leap to believing there are evil people in the world, but not far enough to acquaint himself with firearms, or to get a permit to carry. If we'd spent the last 2 decades living in close proximity to each other, I have little doubt I'd have trained him to use a gun. After seeing the Paris massacre last year, I thought, "If only one of the intended victims in that large crowd had been armed, many lives could have been saved." I also thought, this couldn't happen in America, because surely, somebody in a large crowd like that would be armed, in the U.S. Wrong, history has repeated itself right here in the USA and my son and 51 others were slaughtered like helpless cattle, precisely because nobody in that club had a weapon to shoot back with.
Drew and his signifiant other Juan were both killed and I hope my son was taken quickly and without suffering. I hate to imagine some of the victims being terrorized for hours, because this armed killer was allowed to play God and exterminate them at will and in his own time schedule.
Drew phoned his mom Saturday evening before going to the club and the next morning, he was considered missing, because his mother heard about the massacre and was unable to contact him. We feared the worst and around mid day on Monday, it was confirmed that he had died at the scene.
The killer was armed and his helpless victims were not, yet the anti gun politicians still want to disarm the populace, enabling these scenarios. It is likely such attacks will continue, until the victims start shooting back. That's the lesson I take from this, for what it's worth. When the shooting started Saturday night, I'll bet there wasn't a person in the club who wouldn't have traded everything he owned in the world, for a loaded gun.
I was a uniformed patrol officer on the city of Detroit PD, from 1974-99 and retired at the same rank 25 years later, as when I joined. I worked at the 1st, 3rd, 6th, 13th and 16th Precincts, as well as the citywide Tactical Services Section, for 6 years.
I'll attach a photo of 'Drew' and myself taken last December, when he visited myself and his 1/2 sister, Jill, in Michigan. I don't think there is much more I can tell you, except that Drew was a son to be proud of and he will be missed by many people.”

"Why Did the White House just Humiliate Loretta Lynch?"

NY PostIdiotic: That’s the only word for the Obama administration’s move to scrub references to Islam or ISIS from the transcripts of Orlando terrorist Omar Mateen’s calls.
Under an avalanche of ridicule, the Justice Department on Monday relented and released the full transcripts. But what was the point? Everyone already knew that he’d pledged allegiance to ISIS and its “caliph.”
Fine: President Obama wants to make this about gun control, not terrorism — but ham-handed editing only calls attention to what you’re deleting, and to Obama’s peevish rules against uttering terms like “radical Islam.” Just look at the redactions:
Mateen: “I pledge of allegiance to [omitted]. “I pledge allegiance to [omitted] may God protect him [in Arabic], on behalf of [omitted].”
All the omissions did was make Team Obama look determined to keep its head in the sand about the nature of the enemy. Even the “explanations” sounded dumb. Here’s Attorney General Loretta Lynch on ABC’s “This Week”: “What we’re not going to do is further proclaim this man’s pledges of allegiance to terrorist groups, and further his propaganda.”
Further his propaganda? Seriously? The answer to Islamist jihad is to black out the words?
Lynch never did anything this absurd in all her years as US attorney here in New York, so you know the order came down from above.
It’s also idiocy déjà vu: Four years ago, Team Obama made then-UN Ambassador Susan Rice tour all the Sunday shows to blame the deadly Benghazi attack on an internet video, rather than on the terrorist plot they all knew it was. She looked a fool once the administration finally admitted the truth, just as Loretta Lynch does now.
It makes you wonder: Who at the White House feels compelled to send women of color out to humiliate themselves on national TV?

"Orlando terrorist's... Facebook posts from inside club revealed"

In the hours after he blasted his way into an Orlando gay nightclub, and with his victims lying dead or wounded around him, Omar Mateen took to Facebook to pledge his loyalty to ISIS and threaten more attacks on the civilized world, a key lawmaker privy to the gunman’s posts told FoxNews.com Wednesday.
Mateen, who killed 49 people and wounded 53 inside Pulse early Sunday, died when a SWAT team stormed the club. But in the roughly four hours between his initial rampage and his death, the 29-year-old radicalized Muslim broadcast his twisted message of hate on social media, according to Senate Homeland Security Chairman Ron Johnson, R-Wisc.
“I pledge my alliance to (ISIS leader) abu bakr al Baghdadi..may Allah accept me,” Mateen wrote in one post early Sunday morning. “The real muslims will never accept the filthy ways of the west” …“You kill innocent women and children by doing us airstrikes..now taste the Islamic state vengeance.”
Mateen’s social media accounts were taken down before they could be widely viewed by the public, but Johnson’s committee investigators have uncovered some or all of them. The senator has also written a letter to Facebook executives expressing concern about Mateen’s postings and asking for more information on his activities.
I call for a Facebook ban for people on watch lists.

Mizzou Orlando Vigil is Hijacked by Activists

Link to story

"A vigil Monday planned by several University of Missouri student organizations was supposed to honor victims of Sunday morning’s deadly shooting rampage in a popular gay nightclub in Orlando, Fla.  It turned into a blame session against Mizzou’s LGBTQ community for not being intersectional enough."

"How Chick-Fil-A Responded To The Orlando Attack "

The Federalist:  The franchise, which is known for being closed on Sundays to allow its workers to spend time with their families and attend church, was supposed to be shuttered on the day of the tragedy. But hours after the attack that killed 50 people and injured at least 53 more, Chick-Fil-A employees went to work on their day off to provide free food for those waiting in line to donate blood for the victims of the attack. (LINK)
The chicken restaurant has been on the receiving end of boycotts several times for its support of traditional marriage. But the chain’s political affiliations didn’t stop its employees from helping out the victims of the deadly attack at a gay nightclub.
I'm choking up reading that. These are the people, Christians, being blamed for the attack.

"Ex-wife’s claim: Club shooter was gay"

New York PostSitora Yusufiy, who was married to Mateen in 2009 for three months, made the shocking claim on Brazilian television station SBT Brazil.
Her fiancé, Marco Dias, speaking in Portuguese on her behalf, said that Yusufiy believed that Mateen had “gay tendencies” and that his father had called him gay in front of her. Dias also claimed “the FBI asked her not to tell this to the American media.”
The bombshell came as a male former classmate of Omar Mateen said he had been asked out romantically by the mass killer, who reportedly was a virtual regular at the Pulse nightclub, having visited it more than a dozen times over the years.
The former classmate said he would hang out with Mateen, hitting gay bars after attending class at Indian River Community College police academy in 2006 — and one time Mateen asked him out “romantically,” according to the Palm Beach Post. (for more go here)
At The Federalist a question is asked "What if Mateen Wasn't Targeting Gay People At All?". Excerpt...
...Mateen claimed he was doing this in solidarity with Boston marathon bombers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, and Moner Mohammad Abu-Salha, the first U.S. citizen to carry out a suicide attack in Syria. He also said he was protesting “the U.S. bombing in Syria and Iraq and the killing of women and children.”
No mention of carrying out an Islamic punishment for homosexuality, no mention of gay or lesbian Americans, no mention of his victims at all. Of course, it’s no secret that Islam condemns homosexuality, and that ISIS has executed gay men by throwing them from rooftops in Mosul. So it’s possible that Mateen decided to attack Pulse, a well-known gay nightclub, to carry out a punishment he believed Islam demands for homosexuality.
But in light of the going media narrative, that Mateen specifically targeted a gay nightclub because of his hatred of homosexuality, it seems a rather significant omission on his part. It would also undermine a plot that the Left and the mainstream media want desperately to advance. If the Orlando massacre turns out to be just another terrorist attack by a radical Muslim who hates the West and loves ISIS, what use would it be as a domestic political weapon?
