We didn't know how to explain. Especially to the people back at the home office in Omaha. You see we just wanted to have a nice little show about wild animals. A nature show. Simple and family friendly. Just Marlin Perkins talking about the animals while Jungle Jim Fowler would wrestle it into submission.

It was supposed to be simply clean family fun. Until something terrible happened. Marlin was accidentally hit in the head by a coconut on vacation and he suddenly became obsessed. Obsessed with having sex with the animals.

NFL players now taking their protests onto the field

The NFL would prefer the players’ now-ubiquitous protests take a back seat to the action this season, but it looks like the league won’t get its wish.

If anything, the players seem ready to take their social critique beyond sitting during the anthem.

Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett, who is among the ranks of NFL players to sit during the national anthem, celebrated a sack Sunday afternoon with a single raised fist.

Bennett was the first Seattle player announced during pregame introductions before the home opener against the 49ers and received one of the loudest ovations.

Then he took what’s become his usual seat on the bench during the national anthem.

Protesters supporting Bennett, who says he was subjected to racial profiling and excessive force when Las Vegas police detained him last month, gathered outside the stadium.

"Democrats say they have deal with Trump on young immigrants"

Via Drudge:  The top House and Senate Democrats said Wednesday they had reached agreement with President Donald Trump to protect thousands of younger immigrants from deportation and fund some border security enhancements — not including Trump’s long-sought border wall.

The agreement, the latest instance of Trump ditching his own party to make common cause with the opposition, was announced by Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer and House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi following a White House dinner that Republican lawmakers weren’t invited to attend. It would enshrine protections for the nearly 800,000 immigrants brought illegally to this country as kids who had benefited from former President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, program, which provided temporary work permits and shielded recipients from deportation.

Trump ended the program earlier this month and gave Congress six months to come up with a legislative fix before the statuses of the so-called “Dreamers” begin to expire.

“We agreed to enshrine the protections of DACA into law quickly, and to work out a package of border security, excluding the wall, that’s acceptable to both sides,” Pelosi and Schumer said in a joint statement.

"Waiver issued so construction of border wall can begin"

Via Drudge:  The Department of Homeland Security has issued a waiver to waive certain laws, regulations and other legal requirements to ensure the expeditious construction of barriers in the vicinity of the international border near Calexico, California. The waiver was published in the Federal Register today.

This current waiver covers certain border infrastructure projects in the United States Border Patrol's El Centro Sector, a critical sector for border security. In fiscal year 2016 alone, the United States Border Patrol apprehended more than 19,400 undocumented immigrants and seized approximately 2,899 pounds of marijuana and approximately 126 pounds of cocaine in the El Centro Sector.

The El Centro Sector remains an area of high illegal entry, and replacing the existing fencing, which was built in the 1990s and no longer meets the Border Patrol's operational needs, is a high priority.

"8 found dead in trailer at San Antonio Walmart"

Via Drudge:  "We're looking at a human-trafficking crime this evening," said San Antonio Police Chief William McManus in a video posted on the department's Facebook page. "Homeland Security is working with us."

The eight dead are believed to have died as a result of heat exposure/asphyxiation, according to an SAPD press release, but an official cause of death will be determined by the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office.

Officials said about 30 more people were found inside the truck at 8535 S. Interstate 35 and Highway 16 and transferred to area hospitals for treatment.
