NY Congressman Warns: Submit Or Be Attacked
His logic is that a crack down on invasion will lead to an attack. Unbelievable chizzputz
San Francisco to pay an ilegal $190K for sanctuary violation?
Via AP Twitter: A man from El Salvador in the U.S. illegally who sued San Francisco after police turned him over to immigration authorities in violation of the city’s sanctuary law is set to be awarded $190,000, his attorney said Thursday.
Pedro Figueroa-Zarceno, 33, reached the settlement agreement with the city attorney’s office, said Saira Hussain, a staff attorney at the Asian Law Caucus who represented Zarceno. The agreement must be approved by the Board of Supervisors.
“We have to insure that each and every local law enforcement official is following those sanctuary policies and we are seeing in Mr. Figueroa’s case that didn’t happen,” Hussain said.
Figueroa-Zarceno sued San Francisco in January for violating its sanctuary city law.
The construction worker said he went to police in December 2015 after getting a call from authorities that his stolen car had been found. Instead of helping him, he said, officers detained him and called immigration authorities.
He was taken into custody by federal authorities outside the police station and was in jail for two months. He has been fighting his deportation since his release.
“What happened to me was very unfair and it was an injustice,” Figueroa-Zerceno said. “I went into the police station to seek help and they didn’t tell me what was happening and they arrested me and treated me badly.”

"Number of sanctuary cities grows to 340"
"The list of sanctuary cities has grown to more than 340, and they shielded an average of 1,000 immigrants a month from deportation last year — and more than 2,000 of those released have already been arrested for yet more crimes, according to a report being released Thursday by the Center for Immigration Studies."

"Obama would veto bill stripping sanctuary cities of federal funds"
"The Obama administration on Thursday threatened to veto a House bill that would strip federal law enforcement grants from "sanctuary cities."
The bill would deny cities that refuse to enforce federal immigration laws certain Justice Department grants, and is expected to get a House vote on Thursday. The bill is a response to the shooting death of Kate Steinle by an illegal immigrant who had been deported several times. In some other time, at a place far far away, this kind of thing would be an impeachable offence.
The immigrant, Francisco Sanchez, was released despite federal requests to keep him detained, a decision that was required under San Francisco's "sanctuary city" policy.
But a White House statement indicated that the Obama administration doesn't see that event as a reason to pressure sanctuary cities to enforce federal laws.
"This bill fails to offer comprehensive reforms needed to fix the nation's broken immigration laws, undermines current administration efforts to remove the most dangerous convicted criminals and to work collaboratively with state and local law enforcement agencies, and threatens the civil rights of all Americans by authorizing state and local officials to collect information regarding any private citizen's immigration status, at any time, for any reason, and without justification," the Office of Management and Budget said in a statement of administration policy issued Thursday morning.
"If the President were presented with H.R. 3009, his senior advisors would recommend that he veto this bill," the statement said.

"276 'sanctuary cities' let 8,145 illegal offenders free in just 8 months"
"Ignoring Detainers, Endangering Communities State/local agencies release criminals rather than obey law"
My question is by what circumstance, victims of crimes are considered less of a victim when the perpetrator is an illegal alien? Maybe I'm missing something.
As of 2009 the US General Accounting Office puts the number at 10.8 million aliens "without lawful immigration status".
(*it could be wrong)
Some 276 "sanctuary cities," nearly 50 percent more than previously revealed, released over 8,000 illegal immigrants with criminal records or facing charges free despite federal requests that they be turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement for deportation, according to an explosive new report. Some quick common core* math tells me these so called 'sanctuary cities' were letting go about 33.9 arrested illegals per day.
"The Obama administration has given sanctuaries free rein to ignore detainers by ending the successful Secure Communities program and replacing it with the Priority Enforcement Program. This new program explicitly allows local agencies to disregard ICE notifications of deportable aliens in their custody by replacing detainers with 'requests for notification,'" wrote [Jessica M.] Vaughan. (director of policy Studies for The Center for Immigration Studies, revealing new numbers it received under the Freedom of Information Act) (read more)
