"Someone wrote ‘Trump 2016’ on Emory’s campus in chalk"

"Some students said they no longer feel safe."
Students woke up Monday morning to find messages written in chalk all over campus, in support of Donald Trump. That afternoon, a group of 40 to 50 students protested. According to the student newspaper, the Emory Wheel, they shouted in the quad, “You are not listening! Come speak to us, we are in pain!” and then students moved into the administration building calling out, “It is our duty to fight for our freedom. It is our duty to win. We must love each other and support each other. We have nothing to lose but our chains.”
Jim Wagner, the president of the university in Atlanta, met with the protesters and later sent an email to the campus community, explaining, in part, “During our conversation, they voiced their genuine concern and pain in the face of this perceived intimidation.
“After meeting with our students, I cannot dismiss their expression of feelings and concern as motivated only by political preference or over-sensitivity. Instead, the students with whom I spoke heard a message, not about political process or candidate choice, but instead about values regarding diversity and respect that clash with Emory’s own.”
The story spread quickly, as media such as Reason mocked, “At Emory University, Writing ‘Trump 2016′ on Sidewalk Is a Racist Microaggression…,” with references to students needing “trigger warnings” and “safe spaces” to protect them from presidential candidates’ names and slogans. For many, it was another sign of college students being so overly sensitive that even political campaigning could be seen as hate speech.

Jorge Ramos: Reporters ‘Cozy with Power,’ Act Like They’re in a Club

“You turn on the TV, and you see very bland interviews. Journalists in the United States are very cozy with power, very close to those in power. They laugh with them. They go to the [White House] correspondents’ dinner with them. They have lunch together. They marry each other. They’re way too close to each other. I think as journalists we have to keep our distance from power.”

“I’m not seeing tough questions asked on American television,” he added later. “I’m not seeing those correspondents that would question those in power. It’s like a club. We are not asking the tough questions.”

6 Ways Activists Sabotage Their Causes

Walter Hudson pjmedia

6) Guarding fiefdoms, tea party example. His own.
5)  Attacking efforts, tea party example, same person as above.
4) Defying legislative process, tea party example. Little tangible support emerges. Refusal to support good candidate waiting for a pure one. Impulses to shutting down government. Irrational intransigence. Expecting legislative outcomes wholly out of sync with electoral outcomes denies responsibility of activist to build coalitions.
3) Defying two-party system. Libertarians in Main breaking with GOP example. Mistake in viewing the Party as a servant which ought to work on their behalf rather than a a vehicle which must be actively steered in a desired direction. It cannot be steered by bailing.
2) Rejecting organization as elitist hierarchal affront to Democracy, tea party example, occupy example.
1) Refusing money. Occupy example.

The author uses personal examples, specifically a difficulty with one individual, Mona, but I was expecting something along the lines of, say, the endeavor of political activism itself tends to attract assholes.

Reminds me. There was a facebook/twitter meltdown. Ha! That's how I found the story again  [russian activist facebook twitter meltdown]  and I don't even have to mention [gay]. Done wrecked his gay activist career by ragging on Jews. Might have wrecked it, in a rational world, but reading the comments I am not so sure. The guy says himself that he's out, (autoplay).
