NYPD cops have stopped trying to stop and frisk even when they have good reason.

The federal monitor appointed by the social engineering judge that ended "stop and frisk" has issued a report that states that "officers on the street may be declining to stop, question and frisk when it would be lawful and prudent to do so."

In other words the cops are afraid to do their job because they know the politicians will throw them to the wolves and they have a better chance of losing their jobs and their pensions if they act to get guns off the street. In an article in the New York Daily News the federal monitor Peter Zimroth reports that the cops are afraid of being sued or brought up on charges for stopping and frisking so they have just basiclly stopped doing it. The NYC council has pending legislation that would require cops to get written permission for anyone they stop and search. How do you think that is going to work out?

This is the basic dilemma  for progressive police haters like Comrade Bill De Blasio and the Mayor of Baltimore. They hate the police. They think the real problem is not the criminals but the police. So they decide to go after the police instead of the criminals. The cops aren't stupid. They are not going to put their life and career at risk. So they take a step back. They don't worry about the broken windows. Or the obvious skells carrying a gun that they normally would have tossed. And they wonder why murders are skyrocketing and crime stats are going up and up and up.

I know. Let's fire the police commissioner.

Experts like former police officer Jon Shane said it’s a bad idea that could lead to a spike in crime.

“You always have to be answerable for your behavior and unchecked behavior, we know, leads to larger things and those things manifest themselves in violent crime and property crime, like auto theft and burglary, and things like that,” said Shane, a professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

“I absolutely think they have to go through the justice system before we just boot people out and get rid of them for space,” Upper West Side resident Elizabeth Miller added.

Officer Brian Moore died today. He had been shot in the face when he stopped Demetrius Blackwell who obviously had a gun in his pants. Officer Moore was a plainclothes anti-crime cop just 25 years old.

There will be no protest because of the murder of Brian Moore. No professor or pundit will go on MSNBC or CNN and rant and rave about how unfair it was. How Officer Moore was a young man with his whole life ahead of him. How he played it straight and by all the rules. How he came every day to protect and serve a community that hated him. By a skell who should have been incarcerated but who they would want to go free because there are just "too many minorities in jail." It doesn't matter that Blackwell was a career violent criminal. He is exactly the type of person that they want to go free.

If Officer Moore had tazed this mook they would have started a riot. God forbid he had shot him while he was pulling out his gun. They would have demanded that he shoot the gun out of his hand. They would have asked why did he even stop and frisk him. They would have shut down the Brooklyn Bridge for weeks. Officer Moore probably hesitated for that split second because he didn't want to be the next cop thrown under the bus by the racialists.

You will not see one tenth of the blog posts or comments decrying the murder of Officer Brian Moore. There will be no protests. No press conference by President Obama expressing outrage at his murder. No demands that the Justice Department get invovled. No demonstrations. No outrage at all. They save that all for the skells and career criminals like Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin and Freddie Grey. I expect Demetrius Blackwell to be the commencement speaker at Oberlin college next year.

Because these people think that this is how it should be. Another cop shot dead. Big deal. If they don't like it they should go do something else.

Police lives matter. Just not to them.

"The NYPD's pilot body-camera program is set to launch tomorrow (today) in three precincts across the city. Advocates of outfitting police officers with body cameras hope, among other things, that the devices will discourage officers from mistreating the public—and cause citizens to behave a little more politely toward cops, as well.... Cops have to turn body cameras on for them to work—though officers are supposed to turn them on during a number of specific scenarios, like when they stop a vehicle or arrest a suspect."

"The devices keep a record of every time someone accesses the file. The files are encrypted; even the camera company can't access them unless the NYPD grants permission. According to Vievu President Steve Lovell, the cameras include a feature called "Vidlock," which ensures that once a camera has been assigned to a server and database, video recorded on that device can only upload to that server and database. This means cops can't just hook their body cameras up to any old laptop with a USB cable and transfer files."
