Why can't a woman be more like a man?

During the season premiere of “I Am Cait” Sunday night, Jenner was on a bus tour with a group of transgender women when he said he didn’t want to stop at the Democratic debate.

“It’s the last place I want to be,” Jenner said. “But I’m open. We need both sides and if we’re unfortunate enough get Hillary as our next president, we need her on our side. Although she won’t be — she couldn’t care less about women.”

“She cares about herself.”

After Jenner’s friends criticized him for his conservative views, he said Republicans just had bigger things to worry about than “trans issues.”

“They’re just worried about much bigger issues than the trans issues,” Jenner added.

“We’re $18.5 trillion in debt. I think what they don’t realize is this country could collapse over this at some point and if our country collapses it doesn’t make any difference if you’re gay, trans, whatever.”

Jenner keeping it real

The [transgender] fantasy doesn’t work without complete buy-in, and so Jenner’s nonconformist habits are the stuff of scandal: He remains a Republican. He is pretty mellow about pronouns. He thinks that it is important for a man in his situation to look like a woman rather than “a man in a dress” and sympathizes with people who are creeped out by stubble-faced stevedores in Manolo Blahniks. He’s pronounced himself conflicted on the question of homosexual marriage. On the matter of the social and legal status of men pretending to be women, he pronounced himself “pretty comfortable” with the situation here in the United States. (He resides in Malibu: “Pretty comfortable,” indeed.) Jenner’s relative conservatism and his Republican affiliation ought not be surprising — as my friend Rob Long says: “Of course Jenner’s a Republican. She’s a rich old white lady.”

The husband of a cop killed on 9/11 returned his wife’s posthumous Woman of the Year award to Glamour after the magazine gave the same honor last week to Caitlyn Jenner.

James Smith told The Post he yanked the award off the shelf in his Long Island home dedicated to his wife, Moira, and FedExed it back to the magazine.
