If you check my timeline from last night there was no reason to pick me off, like abusive or hateful language. The only reason why they are doing it is out of rank partisan disagreement.

Donald Trump:  “[T]exting buddies.” for the most part accepted Trump as the presumptive Republican nominee, though he did express his surprise at the candidate’s success. While he did not praise Trump’s policies, the Speaker did say he would vote for Trump in the general election if he becomes the Republican nominee. The former Speaker said he would not, however, vote for Cruz.

Bernie Sanders:  While stating that he disagreed with Sanders on all the issues, the former Speaker also called Sanders a nice guy and the most honest politician in the race.

Hillary:  Early in the talk, the speaker impersonated Clinton, saying “Oh I’m a woman, vote for me,” to a negative crowd reaction. Later, he added that he had known Clinton for 25 years and finds her to be very accomplished and smart. Boehner also speculated about surprises that could come closer to the Democratic National Convention if Hillary Clinton’s emails became a larger scandal. “Don’t be shocked … if two weeks before the convention, here comes Joe Biden parachuting in and Barack Obama fanning the flames to make it all happen,”

Towards Equality and Understanding

The first black president should have been a conservative.

The first female president should be a conservative.

Likewise, the next fiscally conservative President should be a liberal.

We get the most and fastest results towards equality that way because whole stereotypes are destroyed -- things become a "Nixon goes to China" moment.

1) Insufficient Turnover In Congress: Because of gerrymandering, political polarization, and a lack of term limits, Congress has turned into a stagnant pond...

2) A Broken Education System: The primary goal of our education is not to educate our students; it's to sustain the teachers’ unions and fatten the bank accounts of the college professors and administrators at our universities...

3) Unsustainable Spending: It is quite literally impossible to pay off the debt our nation owes along with the commitment we've made to our own citizens via Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security unless inflation dramatically reduces the value of our currency which would erode savings, drive cost-of-living expenses into the stratosphere and generally decimate the economy. Meanwhile, taking even the mildest steps to safeguard the future of Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid has proven to be almost impossible in the current political environment. As a practical matter, this means our country is headed towards bankruptcy or runaway inflation so bad that we might as well be bankrupt...

4) Our Immigration Policies: An ideal immigration policy would be based on merit, would focus on adding highly skilled immigrants, would be easily adjustable, wouldn't change the demographics of our country and would be simple and inexpensive for law-abiding immigrants. Our current system meets none of these requirements. Instead, we have a system that for all practical matters favors a law-breaking 17 year old from Mexico with a third grade education over a British neurosurgeon or a German engineer...

5) An Overly-Progressive Tax System: America doesn't have the highest taxes in the Western world, but it does have the most progressive tax system in the Western world. As a practical matter, what this means is that we have large numbers of Americans voting on whether others should pay more taxes in order to give them things. This is a recipe for disaster because it penalizes the most successful Americans, makes it more difficult to get ahead, discourages investment and job growth, and encourages massive spending in order to produce very marginal benefits. I know an Althouse trap when I see it, but, I can't help myself

Althouse wrote yesterday: "My blog is pretty left-wing today. I'm skewing left."

Don't get me wrong, Althouse is free to sail whichever political winds she feels more comfortable sailing. Far be it for me, to berate her on that score. I've enjoyed reading her "vortex" vortices for years.

However, at a time when we have a dictator light president, making a mockery of the rule of law and the separation of powers, it is not an appropriate response for Law professor Althouse to be playing footsy with the left. An ideology, who's proponents sole purpose for existence, these days, seems to be to prop up president "I can do whatever I want" Obama.

Why encourage more of that kind of presidential worship (something I thought she disliked) by even hinting that she might like what they are doing, what Obama is doing. If there was ever a time NOT to turn left, this is it. Althouse, come back to your good senses.
