"Cincinnati Zoo deletes Facebook and Twitter accounts"

"after being bombarded by Harambe memes: The zoo had tried to use the account to move on from mentions of the gorilla that was killed. It failed"
The account has brought an end to weeks of relentless jokes and memes by fully deleting its account. The zoo had asked people to stop making memes of the dead gorilla – a plea that in fact seemed to spur many people into making new ones.
The deletion might finally have been spurred by an outpouring of anger and attacks in recent days. The zoo’s director Thane Maynard’s account had been hacked, and every single tweet that the official account sent out was greeted by a flood of responses about Harambe.
What happens when people have fewer and fewer avenues on which to safely poke fun?... or something.

What about the star of David and Trump?

BreitbartIf you read establishment or left-wing political news this weekend, you know the big story is that Donald Trump obviously made a big mistake by tweeting an anti-Semitic meme — an iconic Hillary Clinton campaign photo in front of piles of cash, next to a Star of David. He’s under fire from the press, Republicans have nothing to say in his defense, and he’s sending out erratic statements denying that the shape is a Star of David.

But what if that’s not what happened at all?

What if Trump sent out something patently offensive to a couple hundred journalists who are Verified on Twitter — so they would blow up its reach to an audience that might not take such great offense?

He’s done it before.

Biden's window

This is a meme running for months with seeming endless possibilities, the more ridiculous the better. Something coming down the road, something happening in the distance, something resented, musings on some current event from a uniquely Biden point of view, the frustrated hopes of a political operative, any thought a writer would have Biden think is added as text to this photo. I just now read another one a moment ago, they're usually not this self-referential, usually nothing about the picture itself or the window or room, but this time it is, the entry is text on picture "This would be a glass ceiling if the building were sideways."

"Vatican Misspells Jesus’ Name on Papal Medal"

Engraved with the Latin phrase that the pope says inspired him to join the priesthood as a young man, Italy’s state mint misspelled the name of Jesus, calling the son of God Lesus instead.

The medals, of which 6,000 were pressed in silver and bronze and another 200 in gold, have now been recalled. The design included a portrait of Pope Francis on the obverse and on the reverse a work by the artist Mariangela Crisciotti.

The phrase it the pope’s motto. It means, “Jesus, therefore, saw the publican, and because he saw by having mercy and by choosing, He said to him, ‘Follow me.’”

Obama I Have a Drone Speech

"The Best Of The Internet’s Reaction To Obama’s Plans To Bomb Syria. The memes are running 10-1 against, Mr. President."

What if I was a Syrian? Living in terror everyday, not one of the lucky ones to get out. Scrounging for food, eating tree bark, and shoe leather like they did in Sarajevo in the early 90’s. I’ve read a lot about that time, and the one constant question was “Why isn’t anybody doing anything?! Why wont the world help us?”
