Censorship...it is always with us!

So it appears that Lem got another notice from Google about objectionable content. Probably from the Meghan McCain video. He sent me a copy of it and it seems to be generated from Google Ads. I think Google Ads is just about the only way Lem can monetize the blog. I never got a notice on my blog because I never used Ads so they didn't care, Of course that could change. If you use certain buzzwords that the algorithm picks up you can get on a list and be banned.

This is part and parcel of the political correct bigotry and extremism of Google, Facebook, Twitter and all the big social media companies that are controlled by radical progressives. You can't joke around or bust balls or even talk seriously about things that don't fit the woke template. If you do they cancel you. It has become ludicrous in the extreme.

I like to post on TV blogs. Lately is what I do the most. Of course I have banned five times already for having an alternative viewpoint. Just  post the phrase "It's ok to be white" and watch yourself get banned. You just have to set up a new account with a new email but that is just a big pain in the ass.

"DC Comics pull cover of Batgirl menaced by Joker after online protests"

"It was meant as a homage to 1988’s seminal Batman standalone story The Killing Joke, written by Alan Moore, in which the Joker attacked – and probably sexually assaulted or raped – Batgirl aka Barbara Gordon, daughter of Commissioner Gordon, leaving her in a wheelchair."

Teresa Justino, writing on the female-centric comics website The Mary Sue, said: “It’s disturbing. And while it’s certainly drawn well, and it references a classic story from The Joker’s history, the fact is, it’s not what many of Batgirl readers of any gender want to see for one of DC’s few female heroes currently with her own title.”

However, a counter-movement sprang up, with others calling on DC to #SaveTheCover – among them American actor Adam Baldwin – and saying that pulling the cover would amount to censorship.

"Reddit Declares Itself a ‘Government’"

"In response to the rapid growth of the /r/TheFappening subreddit, (where celebrity nudes were posted) Reddit CEO Yishan Wong took to the official Reddit blog to explain why they would not be shutting it down. In the post, called “Every Man Is Responsible For His Own Soul,” he said:
The reason is because we consider ourselves not just a company running a website where one can post links and discuss them, but the government of a new type of community. The role and responsibility of a government differs from that of a private corporation, in that it exercises restraint in the usage of its powers.
If that sounds like grandiose language for a social network, consider that if Facebook were a country, it would nearly be tied with China for the highest population. Consider that everything from political organization to the way we move money is tying itself to social media... (read more)

Shortly after Mr. Wong’s post went up, r/TheFappening was, in fact, shut down, and probably for the best. One minute it stays, the next it’s gone. It could happen on any community, at any time, without explanation. After all, even if Reddit can be called a government, what we can’t call it is a democracy.

"I’m sure not going to alter my drawing style for $0.00 money."

"Daily Kos is a major liberal/Democratic Party blog. About a year ago, the blog began running cartoons. To their credit, they paid a modest fee for them. Many alternative political cartoonists were invited; I was not."
At the time, the owner of the blog mentioned as an aside that I would be welcome, like anyone else, to post to Daily Kos. A few weeks ago, I decided to take him up on that.

Why did I post there for free? To access readers, many of whom would enjoy my work if they saw it. It was an experiment.

The experiment ended yesterday. When I went to log on, I received the above message. I clicked the acknowledgement.

Which marks the end of my experiment posting to Daily Kos. I might consider altering the way I draw a political figure for a paying client. A very high-paying client. Someone who employed me full-time.

Manic, the movie

From Ace's sidebar, bbc uk. This is maddening.

Incidentally, [define: madding]

1. Acting madly; frenzied.
2 Maddening.

This is maddening but not madding.

The film Manic is restricted to festival screenings and academic viewing. Not available for mainstream viewing.

by government officials. So lets have a name then . How else to hurl insults?  Here are all the names in the piece

* director Frank Khalfoun  (says ban is an insult to intelligence of N.Z. adults)
*star Elijah Wood as serial killer Frank
*distributor Neil Foley
*programmer for festival Ant Timpson
***ding ding ding ***Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC) [It] says potentially dangerous
*original version director William Lustig
*Observer's Philipp French  calls film unwelcome
*Hollywood Reporter Megan Lehmann  says sadistic art-house bloodbath
*Monster pIctures

All those individuals named but the reporter could not dig up the name on the bottom of document that issued the ban, there must be a person.  OFLC. That's what I hate about this. It is New Zealand, they have their own Madame Mao and she's ruthless and probably right and undoubtedly has good taste  but she has no name. Laaaaaa lala la la

(I had to look up censoring to see which one to use in the label, I almost gave up and put control freaks)

It's undoubtedly a terrible movie.
