The left have wasted no time in recording their first anti-Trump screeds. See Fiona Apple's "hate song" to Donald Trump. Last time around, with Reagan, it took a bit longer -- a year or two in fact. Remember Gil Scott-Heron's "B-Movie" (1981) which mentioned Reagan as Ronald Ray-Gun?

After a raucous convention we have to answer the essential question: Donald Trump the Republican nominee can either be Reagan or Goldwater. Which will he turn out to be? What will the actions of the party faithful and just regular everyday voters do to influence how he turns out in the view of history.

Every nincompoop commenter and douchnozzle pundit will  repeatedly slam Donald Trump for being a Reality Show star. They drip contempt from their condescending smug mugs while they promote fey Rent Boys and Frankenstein Monsters who never met a villager he couldn't alienate.

They don't realize something. Being a Reality Show star is his secret weapon.

You see he has been in every regular American's home for the past decade. Not George Will's house where they don't own a TV. Not Jonah Goldberg's house because he only watches the Food Channel. Not Anderson Cooper who is in a hot tub with Marco Rubio and Titus. The elites and the political class have no idea of what normal regular average unwashed Americans watch. For ten years.

Who Am I, Why Am I Here?

Like I have been saying in the comments, I'm a commenter who is trying to blog. I'm making this a place available for displaced Althouse commenters, like myself, to come and comment. In that spirit I'm going to link to blogs I used to read at Althouse, when those blogs posts things I'd Imagine we might want to read. Please feel free to make suggestions and make this place worth the effort.

IS POLITICO GOING THE WAY OF MSNBC? Conservative news site Daily Caller passes Politico in web traffic. 

My own politics, as many of you may already know, is staunchly conservative. Stemming from an intuited notion that we need to preserve the ways and means, sources and methods, continue to do the things that made us what Ronald Reagan called the shining city on a hill.
