Lindsay Lohan may need to review her life choices.

The troubled star, whose father Michael Lohan told “Page Six TV” she was pregnant, was photographed smoking and drinking beer on a yacht in Italy Thursday.

Lohan, 30, has been in the Mediterranean most of the week following an explosive fight and breakup with fiancé Egor Tarabosov.

Photographers captured her looking completely burnt out on Friday. One image shows an exhausted looking Lohan sitting on the back of the luxury yacht in an ill-fitting blue swimsuit.

While Lohan hangs with friends, Tarabosov, 22, was photographed leaving London’s Chiltern Firehouse Thursday with a mystery woman

"Call the Midwife.....the end of an era"

This week was the season finale of “Call the Midwife” which once again had a subtext that is highly relevant to the state of our culture in this Year of Our Lord 2016. It illustrates the continuing clash between traditional religious values and the overwhelming force of socialized government. We see this every day. In education. In health care. In marriage. Even in going to the bathroom.

The show also had some significant changes and endings. Spoilers ahead.

Call the Midwife….this week’s episode foreshadows the Mess we are in.

I bet you are really bored of my “Call the Midwife” posts. But guess what. I don’t care. It interests me. This week was very insightful and something we could talk about. Because the episode is right on point with the Supreme Court decision today.

The big reveal this week was that the birth control pill had finally come to socialized medicine in England. The pervy doctor who seduced a nun away from the convent was all excited about peddling birth control to all the people in the East End.  He is especially happy to give it to the unmarried people so they can go out and screw indiscriminately. And the British Socialized Medicine will pay for it Sandra Fluke. Imagine that. Think of him as Obama.

Opposite him is Sister Julienne the head of the Convent. Who wants him to stop for a minute and think about the effect this will have on the family and the community. That maybe this might not be a good thing. That maybe we should look to religion and associate sexuality with marriage and committed relationships instead of fumbling in the convent hallway. Which happened with one of the nerdy nurses and the randy pervy priest who is working his way through the nurse population like a less murderous Richard Speck. Sister Julienne thinks that maybe they should not be peddling contraceptives as members of a religious order. Think of her as the Little Sisters of the Poor.

So this weeks "Call the Midwife" was about violence and deception. Keeping quiet or speaking out. Plus a funky vacation. Secrets were told. Secrets were kept.

But they keep loading the dice.

Call the Midwife.....tells you the back story

The last episode of “Call the Midwife” was quite enjoyable. It is based as you know on a poor neighborhood in the East End of London where a group of midwives who include both nuns and lay people help the poor give birth in their home. It was just at the beginning of socialized medicine in England so they paint a warm fuzzy glow over the government taking over health care. Nostalgia covers up the cracks that lead to people suffering from government run health care that they want to impose on us today.

Be that as it may the stories are the thing. This week featured Nurse Phyllis Crane who was the subject our last “Whose that Girl.” She is the tough no nonsense older nurse who brooks no nonsense from the younger midwives. At first she was very tough and did not reveal anything of her personal story but as time has gone on she has softened and given us more of a window into her personal life.

Baby's coming

I am so happy about Sunday nights this spring. Some of my favorite British “nice” TV shows are all stacked up on PBS and I have hours of interesting and soothing entertainment to DVR. I mean soothing in the sense that it is not all serial killers and severed limbs but sleepy vicarages and fancy department stores and babies! Yeah!

“Grantchester”, “Mr. Selfridge” and “Call the Midwife” are all back and all in a row on PBS. It is just about the only thing public television does that I think is worth a damn. I have been enjoying them thoroughly. The only thing is I am having a spot of bother about “Call the Midwife.” You see it is just too much like the American Election.
