Was Little Phil Right?

I've had this in the back of my mind for a while.

Most people think Phil Sheridan, who hated Indians with a passion, said the only good one was a dead one. He didn't, of course, It was honed down into that familiar quote.

A lot of people felt that way, from the days when the Wild West was west of the Hudson River to the islands of the Pacific in WWII. Many had reason. And, yes, decimating the fighting men of one side helps the winners prevail all the more completely.

Many of the South's leading commanders (Stonewall, JEB, Van Dorn (granted, shot by a jealous husband), and Albert Sidney Johnston, etc.) and sizeable portions of its troops were killed in action. The best the unreconstructed Confederates could do was the Klan.

We know how the Commies obliterated anybody who could be a nuisance any chance they got, to the tune of 130 million dead. Hitler achieved the same with the Night of the Long Knives and other vehicles of civic enhancement. The French citoyens wiped out the nobility and the Good Ol' US of A didn't have much trouble with Loyalists because the American Revolution was also a very ruthless civil war at the end of which a great many Tories departed for more congenial outposts of royal Albion. Many returned, but any resistance was DOA.

So consider this point. We all know the enmity between the ever-shrinking (and it is) Left and real Americans continues to gain in viciousness. The Brooklyn shootings Troop mentioned are the latest example. A lot of people think we'll see a second (third, actually) civil war.

If so, will we have to decimate the Left unto the third and fourth generation or, as Andrew Jackson did with the Five Civilized Tribes, drive them from the United States?

I ask this because we all know the Lefties are in it for the long run. We've beaten them before and they've always regenerated. It took the Democrats 50 years to bounce back from the Civil War and another 20 before they were able to control of the government. What we call the Deep State is merely the way the Left used civil service. The Roosevelt Reds stayed for their 20 years in the bowels of the government and many got another Federal job for another 20 years. The old New Dealers became so entrenched, it took someone like Reagan, who was willing to wage war on them, to change things and the old Reds passed the torch to the hippie dippy types trained by more New Dealers, tenured in colleges all across the country.

And that's where we are today.

So, we'll play a new round of Dorothy Thompson's old parlor game, Who Goes Nazi?.

Can we live with these people or is it them or us, to the last man, woman, and child? They've always had it in the backs of their minds. What William Ayers dreamed 50 years ago is being proposed today under the rubric of Flu Manchu. They would if they could.

Is the Governor of South Dakota a Stupid Whore or what?

 

The excellent political website American Greatness has posted an article that alleges that the popular conservative Republican governor of South Dakota Kristi Noem is having an affair with noted half a retard Corey Lewandowski. You remember Corey right? He was the former Trump campaign manager who got in trouble for pushing some bint on the campaign trial. He is a political operative and was on tour with governor as she tries to burnish her credentials if the big guy decides not to run or if the VP slot is being set aside for affirmative action for a minority or woman. 

Now I don't think it is fair to dog her because she is an attractive woman in politics. It happens all the time. So a lot of it is misogyny which is normally fine with me because I am a dyed in the wool misogynist. But still that's not a reason to destroy her career. We need to destroy her career because she is a phony populist. She proved that with her response to that trans gender bill in South Dakota. She blew it there so to speak. So if she is blowing Corey it is just icing on the twat so to speak. 

We need to clear the field if the big guy opts out. Ron Desantis and Josh Hawley and even Frank Sinatra Jr....err I mean Don Trump Jr are the way to go. Not some mid west governor who is only on TV because she doesn't look like a dog. She is a creation of the media and needs to go away. Anybody that fucks Corey has forfeited serious consideration of serious people. There are men talking here.

Score One For Flag H8red On My Watch

 I'm reposting the same text that I posted about ten years ago which recalled events ten years earlier. A "score" is 20 years right?

Back in 2000 I announced to some former coworkers that my wife and I and our two toddlers were planning to buy a house up in Oceanside. The La Jolla chemistry lab where I had worked was mainly staffed by foreign students and postdocs, but the US students and post docs who were there were mostly the products of elite American universities. One of them looked at me and in all earnestness said: "You know they fly flags up there don't you?"*

Now this was all pre-9/11, but it did typify the mentality at elite universities--even among hard science students who people think are apolitical.  Link

Flag Day is just around the corner (June 14th). We all know that God hates flags, but this isn't a religious holiday. There have always been those who express visceral negative reaction towards the flag. There are probably far more who keep it to themselves. Do they feel the same way at Arlington? Do they feel the same way on July 4th?  If so, it's important to know which way the numbers are changing, demographically. Are there more flag h8ters today than there were 20 years ago?

When I was a kid most of us lived in apartments. You rented or you lived in grandma's house. We were just squeaking by on my Dad's paycheck. So we had to shut up and not make any noise and not get the landlord mad. You see we were paying $25 a month and we couldn't get tossed out. We might end up paying $50 a month or some shit like that there..

So I had to sit on my bed and not make any noise. No friends could come over. No loud TV or music. No loud arguments or running around the house. Sal the Plumber was a well know hot head and asshole. He was just looking for an excuse to bounce us.

It wasn't all bad. I started to read a lot. So much so that my parents got worried. I made my model planes and cars. Collected comic books and baseball cards. I was out all day with my friends on the streets were I learned a bunch about what life is all about.

But the anxiety and fear marked me. As it marks all of us. 

Now the government and big tech is acting like Sal the Plumber. They are evicting us. Throwing us off Twitter and Facebook and Instagram. Impeaching our President. Again.  They keep beating on us. Telling us it is all our fault.

Don't they know how this is going to turn out.

Haven't they ever seen a Farrah Fawcett movie?

With the death of RBG, we'll have a shot at the first Conservative Supreme court since Franklin Roosevelt. That's 80 years, kids. A long time. Maybe time enough to strike down Roe, Lawrence, and a lot of other Lefty impositions on the American character.

Ginsburg, in some ways, was one of the worst of the Lefties, justifying her opinions on European law and tradition when the court is supposed to be checking on Constitutionality. That's how bad it had gotten. I remember being on a cruise a few years ago and heard some Masshole bragging, "Baaston is probably the most European city in America".

That's the Lefty rap these days. We must be more like those "advanced" nations in the British Commonwealth and the EU.

My forebears didn't come here, braving high seas, backbreaking labor, indentured servitude, the Six Nations of the Iroquois, the British Army (twice), starvation, discrimination, the Confederate Army, the Oregon Trail, the California Trail, the California Gold Fields, and assorted sneers from the WASPs to be Euros.

That said, she was one tough bird.

When I saw the remarkable picture above, and in particular the mostly-peaceful young gentleman in the silvery mask, I thought of Auden's ogre. Auden wrote his poem in response to the Soviets' crushing of the Prague Spring in 1968. Our ogres, like his, are very good at causing chaos and destruction, but utterly incapable of, and uninterested in, speaking clearly and understandably.

Women

We see where the Demos are contemplating relegating Chlamydia to the basement also. I can't blame them. Yesterday, in her first big speech, she described the riots as a moral reckoning with racism and historic injustice that has brought a new coalition of conscience to the streets of our country demanding change.

Coalition of conscience? Now you know why.

They can't win.

Word has also come down Ubersturmbannfuhrer Gretchen of MI was Gropin' Joe's real choice, but the Demos are just as desperate now as he was 5 months ago. Understandable why he'd like her. She's his kind of girl.

Great rack, nice curves, good built, probably the best the Demos have to offer. Add to that she's a person of pallor, a good Kraut, has that Because I'm The Mommy, THAT'S Why dominatrix vibe (wonder where she keeps the whip), and probably grew up in a house with restrictive covenants on it.

Ah, well, if Gropin' Joe doesn't make it to Labor Day, they'll need someone to take Chlamydia's place so we can have that historic all womyn ticket.

"Pathos"

Steele uses the word "pathos" to describe what we're seeing. Pathos is like a modern Greek word, πάθος which isn't fancy at all and just means passion. Another Greek word that comes to mind is κάθαρση which means catharsis. Catharsis originally meant "to cleanse" but later on to 'release through drama' as derived from Aristotle's Poetics -- which I've never read. I'm just into the word-sharing between languages. There has been an awful lot of pent-up energy in young people. So the marching is an ethnic release or cleansing.

Brooks: Democrats are “making a terrible mistake” on contempt, destroying checks and balances

Partly the Democrats want the show because it just feels good to bash the administration. “This has had a cathartic effect on the Democrats because we have finally been able to find a way to fight back at the obstructionism,” Representative Jamie Raskin told my Times colleague Sheryl Gay Stolberg.

Partly they are trying to appease the wing of the party that is calling for impeachment right away. The party leaders generally opposed impeachment for sensible reasons. It would be impossible to win a conviction in the Senate without some Republican cooperation and overwhelming popular support — which doesn’t exist. It’s much better for the Democrats if they focus media attention on their presidential candidates. A Trump vs. Nadler media war is exactly what Trump wants.

The problem with any policy of appeasement is that it rarely appeases; it only emboldens. And that’s what’s happening. You can feel the atmosphere in the Democratic Party changing, getting more passionate, getting more caught up in the back-and-forth combat with Trump, getting more whipped up into impeachment furor.

"It's a Mistake" is a song by the Australian band Men at Work... The song's lyrics deal with the mindset of military men across the world in the 1980s, wondering if and when the democratic countries of NATO and the communist states of the Warsaw Pact will end the Cold War standoff with conventional battle or a nuclear exchange.  Hay sings in the persona of a mid-level officer wishing to learn from his superiors if his men are going to war or not.

MamaM's free style swim through a pool of thoughts churned something in my head. She wrote about how "funny" some people act as they approach death back here. This immediately reminded me of Helmuth James von Moltke, a remarkably little known Christian martyr who was murdered during the last year of WW II. I say "murdered" because while technically he was executed for treason, in truth he was murdered solely for being a true Christian. His story still gives me the chills when I reread it. I tried to distill the gist of his trial in his own words here.

Helmuth James von Moltke held a very unique position in Berlin during WW II. He was involved in the minutia of war without himself being a Nazi. And he had what might today be called "security clearance." He secretly wrote to his wife Freya in August 1941:

The news from the East is terrible again. Our losses are obviously very, very heavy. But that could be borne were we not burdened with hecatombs of corpses. Again and again one hears reports that in transports of prisoners or Jews only 20% arrive, that there is starvation in the prisoner-of-war camps, that typhoid and all the other deficiency epidemics have broken out, that our own people are breaking down from exhaustion. What will happen when the nation as a whole realizes that the war is lost, and lost differently from the last one? With a blood-guilt that cannot be atoned for in our lifetime and can never be forgotten, with an economy that is completely ruined? Will men arise capable of distilling contrition and penance from this punishment, and so, gradually, a new strength to live? Or will everything go under in chaos?

That passage may seem like old news, but, it was prescient: Note the early date: August 1941. Operation Barbarossa was barely a year old. Stalingrad -- the conventional turning point in the war against the Germans -- was 16 months in the future: 1942-43. We Americans were not even in the war yet.

Today we have the Mueller squads going around, not shooting people in the head, but essentially holding guns to the heads of former Trump associates and convicting them of crimes for no other reason than political ones. Their sole intent is to get Trump. And yet they call us Nazis. Their physical henchmen -- antifa -- are more literally shedding blood under the same banner. Both don't seem to realize that they are spreading political blood-guilt that cannot be atoned for in any future election.
