It's Shark Week.....Again

It's Shark Week in the canals of Buttonwood Harbor in Florida as hundreds of coastal sharks have come from the harbor into the canals that dot this residential community.

You see it is the Red Tide. No not the communist congress people led by AOC but the algae that spreads and sucks all the oxygen out of the water and kills the fish.

The sharks are smart enough to sense that this is a bad thing so they fled inland into the system of canals and inlets that make this town a nice place to live. In Florida everybody that can loves to have a boat and these little canals are perfect places to park your little schooner until it is filled with sharks. There is a problem though. There are so many sharks that they don't have enough room. They have to swim back and forth to get the oxygen they need to breath and there is just not enough room or oxygen in the water to sustain a large population of sharks. So they might all die anyway.

Personally I blame COVID.

"Patriots owner Robert Kraft solicited prostitute, police say"
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft is being charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution after he was twice videotaped paying for a sex act at an illicit massage parlor, police in Florida said Friday.

Jupiter police told reporters Friday that the 77-year-old Kraft hasn’t been arrested. A warrant will be issued and his attorneys will be notified. Kraft has denied wrongdoing.

Jupiter Police Chief Daniel Kerr said he was shocked to learn Kraft, who is worth $6 billion, was paying for sex inside a strip-mall massage parlor, the Orchids of Asia Day Spa.

“We are as equally stunned as everyone else,” Kerr said.
In Bob Kraft's defense, things started going hairy for him since he started eating salads with a comb.

"Please don't paint Florida Turtles"

MiamiHerald.com:  You can paint your nails, you can paint your house — but you can’t paint a turtle.

That’s what the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission wants to remind Floridians after two gopher tortoises were found with paint on their shells. They shared pictures of the turtles on Facebook, with a warning that the paint is not only illegal, but harmful to the turtles and tortoises.

“While to you it may seem harmless, painting the shells of turtles and tortoises can severely compromise their health — the paint can hinder their ability to absorb vitamins they need from the sun, cause respiratory problems, allow toxic chemicals into the bloodstream and more,” the announcement said.

The paint also makes the tortoises and turtles more noticeable and vulnerable to predators, according to the Wildlife Commission. There is greater concern for gopher tortoises, which are listed as threatened in the state of Florida and protected under state law.

"Women have "choices" Men have responsibilities"

"Bill that could end permanent alimony in Florida causes division between men's and women's groups"
“What did the father do?” said women’s advocate and co-founder of Families Against Court Travesties Adele Guadalupe. “He contributed his sperm. The mother carried the baby for nine months. The mother had the nausea and threw up, probably had to give up her job. The mother had to give birth, the mother has to breastfeed the child. All of the sudden, the mother counts for nothing and the father has a 50-percent right to this child when it’s young? It goes against nature. It goes against justice. It goes against everything we have been brought up to believe.”

"Duo steals jewelry from art gallery, leaves name, number in guestbook, cops say"

"If I knew that they cost that much, I wouldn't have taken it,"
Megan Ohara, 24, and David Ziskoski, 19, were arrested on Sunday by the Palm Beach Police Department.
Police said Ohara and Ziskowski walked into the Attila JK exhibition at the ICFA Gallery in Palm Beach Sunday and took a bracelet and a ring belonging to the exhibition's owner and artist. The artist said his jewelry was sitting on a desk in the gallery and that combined, the items cost about $6,000.
He gave police a description of Ohara and Ziskoski, and one officer noted he had seen the duo hanging around Palm Beach.
As officers arrived back to the gallery, the artist said he had noticed something in his gallery's guestbook. Someone had written multiple fake email entries into the guestbook, including "wedidnttakeit@gmail.com," according to the arrest report.
Two of the fake emails included the name "Meg" and one included Ohara's phone number next to it. Also on the page was a drawing of male genitalia and a woman's face labeled as "Meg."
Later at the Palm Beach County Jail, Ziskoski told investigators he and Ohara were the ones who the put the entries in the guestbook, and again said they took the jewelry, according to the report.

A flakka attack... no, is not about politics

"It is very bizarre behavior, and it does concern us," says Commander Danial Lynch of the Melbourne [Florida] Police Department. (news video at the link)
A 17-year-old female was arrested at 2:30 in the morning Saturday after police said she jumped through the window of a home on the 1600 block of Sycamore Street in Melbourne, according to her arrest report.

The residents of the home say they were terrified after following the incident. The arrest report states that the girl, covered in broken glass and blood, slapped one of the residents of the home, and then ran outside. When police arrived, the report says she charged the officer while screaming, "I am God, I am Satan!" The officer wrote that he backed up at first, but then Tasered her and took her into custody.

Melbourne Police say this behavior is indicative of someone high on "flakka," a relatively new synthetic designer drug that burst onto the scene in 2012 in South Florida.
"Danial" is probably a misspelling of Daniel.

"U.S. Special Operations holding urban warfare drills in Broward County"

"Police agencies in Broward County are assisting members of the U.S. Special Operations Forces who are undergoing urban warfare training."
The exercises began Monday, will last until March 27 and will be held at locations that the military will not disclose.

The 200 military personnel are from the four branches: Air Force, Army, Marines and Navy.

The goal is to prepare participants in realistic, unfamiliar training conditions before they deploy for combat overseas. Those urban locations can't be replicated on a practice range, the military said.

The exercises will happen in a variety of places but will not be held at the beaches, the Everglades, malls or large population centers, the spokesman said.
Don't ask me how I know, but, I bet there wont be any Military exercises in Ferguson Missouri.

Florida Florist

Did you see in the news White House florist was quietly dismissed? Speculation is that the florist's French style did not comport with the first lady's more modern preferences. Wouldn't you love to see those emails?

George Zimmerman Found Not Guilty

George Zimmerman found not guilty of murder in Trayvon Martin's death
"(CNN) -- George Zimmerman never denied shooting Trayvon Martin, but he said he did so in self defense. Late Saturday night, a Florida jury found him not guilty in the teenager's death.
The verdict caps a case that has inflamed passions for well over a year, much of it focused on race.
The six jurors -- all of them women -- deliberated for 16½ hours. Five of the women are white; one is a minority.
When he heard his fate, Zimmerman had little visible reaction. He turned and shook the hand of one of his attorneys before sitting back down, smiling only after court was adjourned."

Please feel free to comment your reaction to the verdict.
