‘Evidence Exists’ Christie Knew About Lane Closings

"In a letter released by his lawyer, the former official, David Wildstein, a high school friend of Mr. Christie’s who was appointed with the governor’s blessing at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which controls the bridge, described the order to close the lanes as “the Christie administration’s order” and said “evidence exists as well tying Mr. Christie to having knowledge of the lane closures, during the period when the lanes were closed, contrary to what the governor stated publicly in a two-hour press conference” three weeks ago."

What do they say?

It's not the crime, it's the cover-up.

"Despite 'Bridgegate,' Christie's Approval in New Jersey Still 59%"

"Despite the 24/7 coverage of "Bridgegate" by much of the mainstream media, and the endless speculation about other potential Christie scandals, the New Jersey Governor still has 59% approval among adults in his state, according to a Monmouth University Poll"

Care to speculate as to why people don't seem to be changing their minds about the governor?

CNN is reporting the governor will bring up "Bridgegate" during this afternoon's annual State of the State address.

The speech will be carried live by C-SPAN this afternoon at 3:00 pm ET.

Governor Christie's Lane

NJ's Governor Chris Christie is in big trouble.
The mystery of who closed two lanes onto the George Washington Bridge — turning the borough of Fort Lee, N.J., into a parking lot for four days in September — exploded into a full-bore political scandal for Gov. Chris Christie on Wednesday. Emails and texts revealed that a top aide had ordered the closings to punish the town’s mayor after he did not endorse the governor for re-election.
Up until now, the governor had managed the allegations by using his well known bluster, verbally intimidating anybody who would dare ask any questions. And, ultimately, when questions persisted, a staff mistake.

Today, however, a paper trail has surfaced.
“Time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee,” Bridget Anne Kelly, a deputy chief of staff to Mr. Christie, emailed David Wildstein, a high school friend of the governor who worked at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which runs the bridge.

Later text messages mocked concerns that school buses filled with students were stuck in gridlock: “They are the children of Buono voters,” Mr. Wildstein wrote, referring to Mr. Christie’s opponent Barbara Buono.
Where is the governor's friend, Barack Obama, when he needs him?
