Rob at Dinosaur Ridge

Rob's out of Richmond. A long time ago he noticed another of my blogs via TOP and dared to remark on my Photoshop abilities. His advice improved my photos noticeably. I sent him a few tiny boxes of the Egyptian chocolate mint things I was making at the time and passing around. He wasn't expecting any such thing. That action apparently left an impression, he's been following progress on the blog since and sometimes comments there. He's passing through town on a cross country road trip I hasten to add in a very nice automobile the likes of which lads salivate, a black convertible Mercedes, so, top down ride the whole way, picked me up and we drove out to Dinosaur ridge for him to fly his drone. An aging old-school hippy up there at the top directed our attention to a baby snake. My first rattler in Colorado. Ever. It's the cutest little thing. There were two. And they're mean, even that little. They are tiny. Apparently a rattler just had babies nearby.

This is the top of the ridge where the hairpin then goes down the back side at the same angle of incline where Red Rocks amphitheater and the park are. Something is going on at the park, the entrance was packed with cars. Nothing much going on where we were at the top of the facing ridge. Only a few hikers. This would be the very first ridge of the foothills where layers of old ocean edge break jutting upward. We walked the length of the road from parking at the base of the ridge a fairly straight road up the ridge to the top where it broadens and flew the drone around, it recorded the environs until its battery drained, and that back and forth hike really was a bit of a workout. They have a little bus up there for people like me. You don't see people up there hiking around with canes. Well, those people did, but I don't see any.
