WKRLEM: Nothing rocks me anymore, honey

President Trump  laid a wreath at the grave of President Andrew Jackson. That was not by accident.

The District Court in Hawaii decided to take it upon itself to conduct the foreign policy of the United States.

"John Marshall has made his decision; now let him enforce it."

"The owner at my workplace banned books during my lunch "break""

I've been reading books during my lunch breaks at work and today they decided to ban "reading material" as it "takes me too long to eat". I've been reading reading "Thinking Fast and Slow" by Daniel Kahneman. I prefer to read it in small bursts, it's a ton of material which leads me thought provoking ideas while I a delivery drive. I couldn't ever understand it reading it all in a week. Every few pages gives me enough to think about.

I explained to them that cellphones and social media and the like also contain letters and that this constitutes "reading material". The owners response was "I don't want to ban cellphones" and the General Manager added "it is against corporate rules". As in, cellphones are also banned. So to them cellphones are OK but a book is not.

I attempted to explain I'm missing the fillings out of some of my teeth due to root canals and me not having the money to replace them. I have to chew with my front teeth (mostly) and I can use my normal masticating teeth very carefully and deliberately. It takes me a lot longer (relatively) to chew food than most people. They decided that the "book" was why I was so slow. I've complained about toothaches before and for a good portion of my earlier work career, I could hardly eat at work at all.

So as my little fuck you to them, I'll be reading my books in ebook format.

I'm literally the only individual this applies too, and I just wanted to share my sticking it to the man.

I found it quite telling that phone games, social media, texting and the like are all "Ok". But when I try and better myself and "read a book" I'm singled out for it. Tells a lot about American culture nowadays.

"US military pilots complain hands tied in ‘frustrating’ fight against ISIS"

Making the world safe for ISIS...
U.S. military pilots carrying out the air war against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria are voicing growing discontent over what they say are heavy-handed rules of engagement hindering them from striking targets.

They blame a bureaucracy that does not allow for quick decision-making. One Navy F-18 pilot who has flown missions against ISIS voiced his frustration to Fox News, saying: "There were times I had groups of ISIS fighters in my sights, but couldn't get clearance to engage.”

He added, “They probably killed innocent people and spread evil because of my inability to kill them. It was frustrating." (read more)
Meanwhile, The Free Beacon reports Al Qaeda in Syria is "Tweeting Jihad to Over 200,000 Followers"
Though al Qaeda’s ongoing operations have taken a backseat to the exploits of IS, the group founded by Osama bin Laden is thriving on Twitter, according to MEMRI.

“It should be noted that as Twitter’s removal of accounts on its platform linked to the Islamic State (ISIS) has gotten a lot of attention, accounts belonging to many other Designated Terrorist Organizations, notably to Jabhat Al-Nusra (JN), Al-Qaeda’s branch in Syria that was designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization by the U.S. State Department in December 2012, have not received any attention, and its many accounts, which have a total of over 200,000 followers, are thriving,” MEMRI wrote in a recent report.

“This is another reminder of Twitter’s failure to effectively address this issue and its lack of a true strategy for doing so,” the group concluded.

Oh, don't thank me. I do not have any of that understanding nor enjoyment.

There is a page 2. but it appears to be fraudulent. Funny as h-e-double police sticks, but fraudulent. Page 3 in the comments. Surely you can think of some good rules yourself.

See? This is what I meant way back there at the 420 festival a few blocks from my home. Easy enough to go there and participate but they had me walk an extra two blocks to snake my way through barriers when all they had to do was allow me to step through a gap right there at the logical spot that was unnecessarily guarded. I decided at that point not to participate due to layered ridiculous rules. I copped a bad attitude. Then I observed the person of color allow access through the gap for other persons of color. So after all that the rules really are flexible, but not for me. I yelled out my protest from a distance, in public. And that breaks another rule. A rule of my class that cringes with embarrassment for yelling in public. And yelling at people, service people at that, a woman besides, it is unacceptable. But there I am yelling anyway. That's how cross I was at ridiculous rules that would have me walking extra blocks. Yet everyone else found that perfectly acceptable and had a great time celebrating. Celebrating what?  Freedom! The freedom for doing something they should have had freedom of doing all along, and in a society that brags about its vaunted freedoms. Ew, I get cross all over again.

And you know what? While I'm on it, here's another thing. My home, home on the range was cloudy all day today. All day! And not a deer or antelope in sight. I have had it with all this false advertisement.

1st floor, 2nd floor, and now you're locked into it, 3rd floor, 4th floor. Jesus Christ what a hassle just for a book. Four floors for a book signing! Who would put up with that crap? What kind of personality tolerates that? I do not want to be anywhere near them.

Politico's Maggie Haberman tweeted the list of guidelines, she being one of the first in line. That is who would brook such nonsense. For a story, I suppose.
