Eat your meat!

How do you like your steak?

I have a problem because I like number one and the wife likes number five. So I have to cook everything differently. The big problem is the cut of meat we pick. Sure if you have small steaks each can be cooked to order. Well done or properly rare. But if you get a big T-bone or a porterhouse you are cooking one piece of meat that you are sharing. So unless you cut it up it is almost impossible to cook it to everyone's taste.

Right now we are in prime grilling time which is the best for steak. I grill even in the snow but now it is very pleasant. I can sit on the porch and enjoy a beverage while cooking and enjoying the sunset. In the winter I use a grill pan to sear it and then put in the oven to cook to taste.

Red meat is great and much preferable to most other meats. It has a flavor all it's own. When you eat chicken you talk about the sauce. Not the taste. That is why everything is compared to chicken as to taste. Which means it has not taste.

Rare is the way I like it. Bloody red and flavorful. That is the only way for me.

Just add some salt and pepper to a properly grilled steak and we have a party.

Towards Equality and Understanding

The first black president should have been a conservative.

The first female president should be a conservative.

Likewise, the next fiscally conservative President should be a liberal.

We get the most and fastest results towards equality that way because whole stereotypes are destroyed -- things become a "Nixon goes to China" moment.

I know an Althouse trap when I see it, but, I can't help myself

Althouse wrote yesterday: "My blog is pretty left-wing today. I'm skewing left."

Don't get me wrong, Althouse is free to sail whichever political winds she feels more comfortable sailing. Far be it for me, to berate her on that score. I've enjoyed reading her "vortex" vortices for years.

However, at a time when we have a dictator light president, making a mockery of the rule of law and the separation of powers, it is not an appropriate response for Law professor Althouse to be playing footsy with the left. An ideology, who's proponents sole purpose for existence, these days, seems to be to prop up president "I can do whatever I want" Obama.

Why encourage more of that kind of presidential worship (something I thought she disliked) by even hinting that she might like what they are doing, what Obama is doing. If there was ever a time NOT to turn left, this is it. Althouse, come back to your good senses.

"Rand Paul: Democrats Should Be ‘Embarrassed’ To Be Seen With Bill Clinton"

"Speaking to Fox News Tuesday, the Kentucky Republican and potential 2016 White House contender said that the Democrats are mistaking Clinton’s popularity after the former president spoke at a campaign rally for Alison Lundergan Grimes, the Democrat challenger to Sen. Mitch McConnell."

“We have a lot of conservative Democrats in our state who go to church each week and really don’t approve of his behavior, what he has done with sexual harassment in the workplace,” Paul said, referencing the Monica Lewinsky scandal. “A lot of Democrats in our state don’t approve of that kind of behavior.”

Paul, who previously called Clinton a “serial philanderer,” thinks it’s a mistake for Democrats to view Clinton as some type of role model.

Talking about Clinton’s appearance at Grimes’ rally, Paul said Democrats should return money he has raised and that they should be “embarrassed” to be seen with him.

“I think he’s a bad role model for the workplace, for women’s rights, for all of that, and I think really they ought to be a little embarrassed to be associated or being seen with him,” Paul stated.

I love that Rand Paul is not afraid of the Clintons. Nobody else has ever talked like that about them. It's refreshing. Go after them Senator!

ADDED - I just remember why Paul's tone strikes a chord with me. Do you remember what Bill Clinton said, back when he first ran? How a vote for him would mean two, himself and Hillary, for one?

Sally Bedell Smith's book, published in 2007, is a year-by-year account of how effectively Bill and Hillary work together to win elections, achieve political and policy goals, and contain scandal. In the author's own words, the book explores "how two intelligent, ambitious, and complex people confronted the challenges they faced in the White House, how they worked together and seperately, and how the push and pull of their marriage affected the presidency."

The main point of the book is the idea of "two for one," almost a co-presidency, and less overtly, both Bill's and Hillary's use of the word "we" when describing policy positions and achievements.

Going after Bill, politically, is the same as going after Hillary, because they've sold themselves to the voters as one entity from the beginning. So, that's how Rand Paul is going about attacking them politically. It's brilliant.

Try This Pose In Front Of A Mirror

Is it natural?  Is it comfortable for you?  Would you be caught doing it in public? Some of us touch our faces with our hands, often without thinking, but that pose indicates more than scratching an itch. And there are numerous different photos of the President doing this at various points of his career. I don't think they were all photoshopped. Some of them were caught on video too. 

WTH is up with it?

P.S. The middle finger gesture is not racial in any way. It reminds me more of something Bill Ayers would do. Or a man schooled far far away by a woman named Stanley.
