It's all about the guns.....

Two big events regarding the Second Amendment have transpired the last few days.

First off, the Republican traitors in the Senate have bent over and took it up the ass from the Democratic gun grabbers. These quislings are using the same lies they used for gay marriage. "It's not that big a deal. It is a reasonable compromise. It will not have any other effect or change."

It is all lies. You give an inch, and they take a mile. Red Flag laws will be used to seize guns from anyone who does not toe the liberal line. You are seeing the effect with the torture and crimes being committed against the Jan 6 patriots who were only exercising their first amendment rights. The constitution means nothing to these scum bags. 

Why is the Second Amendment the only one that can be abrogated without a constitutional amendment. Why can't we just legislate a return to slavery? I mean most of the Mexicans that the elite Karens abuse are basically slaves. Their nannies and gardeners are the direct equivalents of Aunt Jemina and Uncle Ben. Why not stop women from voting on certain issues? A judge can decide without due process.  I don't know maybe just when they are on the rag. You know a red rag law. They don't have good judgement when their hormones are in control. That is a reasonable compromise, right?

Or is that ridiculous bullshit like this new gun compromise?

They only solace we have is the bare minimum of votes we have on the Court thanks to the God Emperor of the Cherry Blossom Throne. Their decision to invalidate the onerous gun laws of New York state and other jurisdictions that require licenses to own or carry guns is the only bright spot in the increasing move toward disarming normal Americans. I am sure that New York State will ignore it and there are many more fights to come but at least we have a decision on the books that we can use in the future. 

It is all not going to end well.

We need to take the lessons of Lucas McCain to heart and just start dealing with the people who are stealing our rights out from under us. It's the only solution.

Parabellum, Molon Labe, and 2nd Amendment Sanctuaries

I spent the weekend turkey hunting with my son, my nephew, my brother, and his friend. This was the first time I'd been hunting in about 45 years. The last time was shortly after my dad gave me a .22 caliber rifle because, well, that's just what fathers in Wisconsin did back then. Rite-of-passage and all that. I went squirrel hunting with a best friend, we each shot a squirrel, and I felt terrible. So I put the gun away. Now I came from a gun-toting heritage as I explained in part back here. 

We didn't get anything both mornings, even though we could hear toms gobbling. So no animals were hurt. We did get to shoot some cool hand guns because my brother's friend is a collector. He brought along a 9mm German Luger and a .45 caliber 1911 Browning service pistol. Both weapons have storied histories on two sides of major twentieth century conflicts. The Luger especially intrigued me:

The 9 mm weapon first appeared in 1908 and was called the Parabellum Pistole. "Parabellum" is Latin for "prepare for war." What an understatement in 1908. I particularly liked the stamped engravings; the word "beladen" (loaded) appears when a round is chambered:

Of course we had many discussions of gun laws and the intentions of the Biden Administration and nascent Harris Administration. The locals are not convinced that the Fed's intentions are kosher. Universal gun registration followed by gun confiscation IS the ultimate goal. How do I know this? I know too many Dems on board with the notion that all guns are icky and need to be rounded up and destroyed, just like in the rest of the Anglosphere. Funny, nobody ever mentions Switzerland. The other side's attitude is best summed up by the defiant Greek expression μολὼν λαβέ (come and get them) first uttered in 480 BC.

There is another movement brewing called "2nd Amendment Sanctuaries."  The usual suspects in the media are calling this movement anti-common sense. That's a bit rich coming from the side that backed and continues to back Sanctuary Cities. I say turn about is fair play.

This is a nice sequence separated by only a few tweets. It could be one of those shot, chaser things but that suggests drinking and this is Sunday. What are we, lushes? 

Someone is going to get hurt. Somebody is going to bleed. And you might think the bloodshed must be from those gun-toting Rethuglicans while they might be victims, as we've seen. 

We notice firsthand, right here in Denver, the crazy that follows Democrat conventions as insects to excrement are all various left wing concerns and all of the crazy that follows Republican conventions as witnessed at Trump rallies are also left wing concerns. Conclusion: all the troubles worked up by political crackpots at conventions are generated by left wing concerns.

"Woman Fatally Shoots Mississippi Fugitive Rafael McCloud"

"A woman being held hostage with her family by a suspected murderer fatally shot him Thursday morning — ending the multi-agency manhunt for the armed and dangerous felon, police said."

The fugitive, Rafael McCloud, 34, had approached a man in Vicksburg while he was starting his car outside of his home, Vicksburg Police Chief Walter Armstrong told NBC affiliate WLBT.

McCloud ordered the man inside, where he tied him and his wife up, Armstrong said. At one point, McCloud stabbed the man in the shoulder before he broke free.

Amid the man's escape, his wife grabbed a firearm and shot McCloud in the head, Armstrong told The Associated Press. The woman and a child inside the home were unharmed 

The use of a gun made this woman her attacker's equal, in the respect that matter most, her right to remain alive. You could argue, in the right hands, guns are an equality tool.

My Turn

This book cover is thoroughly wrong as you see right off, you must hate it. You must. For so many of your own reasons you must, assumption inherent in the title, reversal of political position, knowing how American politics works, the brutal depiction. You must hate this for other peoples' reasons that you know about, ew ick guns, she would not do that, she would not touch a gun. You must hate it for its visual assault on reality, and you must hate it for what it suggests and it suggests too much at once and that is why it is perfect. Perfectly disturbing. Perfectly post-modern. So worthy of failure for so many reasons it will surely find some success. Just as the artist already has.

The artist genuinely believes this depiction is sexy.

Got that? The artist is extremely ready for Hillary but sells her art for a book cover that attacks Hillary from a left point of view.

Sole knows all this.

Very well. Measured. That cinches it. Plus she gets her art out there. It's all good. With one condition. The original title "Stop Hillary" must be changed, no such anti-Hillary title can be acceptable to Sole, the cover artist, it must be changed to "My Turn." Because Sole the cover artist believes that it is Hillary's turn. Ha ha. She laughed.

Her turn to be president. President of United States is a turn-having thing.

Sole is a serious-minded artist that experiences periods of inspiration and obsession. Of Sole's artistic career arc this will be her 'Hillary period' as Shepard Farley has his Obama period.

Henwood, the author of the book with the title so wrong, knows that to normal people the title "My Turn" sounds like a brazen demand to take power through entitlement so he says to Sole, the cover artist, "Okay. Fine with me." While Sole honestly believes her new title is attractive because she really does believe it is Hillary's turn.

Every day, about 30 people are killed in the U.S. in gun homicides or gun accidents (not counting gun suicides or self-inflicted accidental shootings). And every day, likely about 30 people are killed in homicides where the killer was under the influence of alcohol, plus alcohol-related drunk driving accidents and alcohol-related accidents where the driver wasn’t drunk but the alcohol was likely a factor (again not including those who died in accidents caused by their own alcohol consumption). If you added in gun suicides on one side and those people whose alcohol consumption killed themselves on the other, the deaths would tilt much more on the side of alcohol use, but I generally like to segregate deaths of the user from deaths of others.

So what are we going to do about it? When are we going to ban alcohol? When are we going to institute more common-sense alcohol-control measures?

Roy Clyde, a Wyoming man, went out specifically to shoot homeless men and he killed Stalone Trosper and wounded James Goggles as they rested on mattresses at the Center of Hope. Clyde said he was tired of cleaning up after their messes.

The criminally civic-minded act is depicted as racist due to the number of native American men who visit the town's parks from a nearby Wind River Indian Reservation where alcohol is illegal. And depicted as hunter-mentality generally by city dwellers who blench at the thought of touching a firearm.

Let me pull up a fainting sofa for you all and get some some smelling salts. *waves shotgun cartridge under noses* While I review with you what you already know. These dogs, your dogs, are hyper as you know and require continuous human interaction, they watch every move and imbue it with meaning and relevance to them. This would be one of some fifteen or twenty or so utterly ace tricks that the dog does resulting from their extensive, channeled and structured interaction together. Overreacting to one such common trick is absurd. And also pushy and nobody is listening anymore to effete fools and silly unselfconscious tools of State.

For some reason they all remind me of Alex in A Clockwork Orange being subjected to Ludovico Technique of aversion therapy with his eyes forced open to scenes of brutality and the drugs causing him to associate the music of Beethoven that he loves with violence. Until in the end through violence he is cured of their brainwashing.

But these typical liberal British fiercely opinionated island-dwelling dipshits have no idea of their own brainwashing. They think they thought it all up themselves, the opinions spoon-fed them from infancy.  

Every one of those British commenters are thoroughly brainwashed to respond physically to the thought of guns. There never is a gun in the video, just the suggestion of one, a human hand and the voice of  a man playing with his dog but they all respond with revulsion as if it were not play and say so and that's what makes them so unbearable to stand. Who's going to take advice from these idiots? Democrats. My impulse is go buy a gun just because I can, and believe me, I have no business owning one, but that's my response to these morally vainglorious asses.

A Town Called Mercy

BBC has a giant tormenting bug up its collective ass about American resistance to "sensible" gun control laws. Having surrendered their own firearms freedoms, and the whole place being basically London and its suburbs, they simply refuse to accept other developed nations do not share their values on this subject. And they cannot stop their incessant nagging until they see that we do. Their London-centric attitude is aggressively obnoxious. I read it every day. No amount of equally aggressive counterargument has any affect at all. They are impervious.

Their productions involving guns are ridiculous. Everyone says eventually, "Drop your gun," and they do. The sound of hollow plastic squirt gun hitting the hard surface is not bothered with overdubbing the sound of solid metal. And doesn't everyone in America alway say drop you gun? "And kick it away."  All that gun dropping, and kicking. Does that even happen in real life? Isn't that dangerous? It's ridiculous gun handling I suppose they imagine from American Westerns.

Who looks rather dashing on a horse but we all know he's a big clumsy klutz. There is another scene, a few scenes actually, where a British actor speaks American English and nails a hayseed accent sounding perfectly natural without any stereotypical exaggeration. I respect that.

This brief scene has me doubled in laughter whenever I see it. It is perfect, and counter to my general complaint. It shows BBC does have a great sense of humor.

Does violence define masculinity?

I'd say, yes, actually. That's with a whole bunch of caveats and recourse to definitions. Still, I think that most of what this guy says is both very right and very wrong.

First, he claims that men = violence is entirely cultural... that it's trained into boys from their youngest years.  Part of that is true, but it's also not true.  We know that higher testosterone is associated with higher aggression in both men and women and men tend to have more testosterone. Violence is actually essentially human. We don't train it into ourselves, we train it OUT.*

"On May 29 three people allegedly approached an East Point, Georgia, apartment posing as police officers, "intending to force their way inside" when the woman inside the apartment shot one of the would-be invaders."

According to WSB-TV 2, the renter "cracked the door to take a look outside and that's when police say the three tried to push their way inside."

Police say said that "one of the suspects raised a handgun but the woman fired first," grazing one attacker "on the head and the backside."

The suspects fled, but the wounded one was apprehended.

A commenter at abovetopsecret asks, how is this different from the executive order that Clinton signed, and earlier orders by Bush? PDF  The earlier orders speak to readiness and cooperation between government departments.

The answer to that is previous orders do not authorize seizing property. The new order includes the phrase "under emergency and non-emergency conditions." HotAir.

Then why make changes?

That was then and this is now. Previous orders were before Homeland Security. But It is a matter of trust. There is none. And of scale. Departments are outsized. The scale is inverted between officials and the governed. We are governed without consent. We've seen what a vindictive executive does, how he behaves when pushed. How departments are kept open and used against citizens while bitterly complaining about being shut down even as it was himself who did the shutting in order to avoid talking. So important to "have a conversation" except when it's not. Park Service specifically in the last instance. But we also see border control being made useless while departments with scant need for firearms are powering up unreasonably. We've seen political leadership and media cynically use  emotionally charged gun-related madness-related catastrophes to immediately bust moves across the whole nation in multiple states to pinch second amendment rights to private ownership of firearms of law abiding citizens that do nothing to prevent such catastrophies. The pig trap

I found this piece interesting reading all the way through. I found it within comments somewhere, a link to a post at taxicabdepressions. The writer brags his piece was picked up by Western Rifle Shooters, at first scan that appears to be exceedingly far right prep group.

The piece begins with a photo a a militarized vehicle with soldiers hanging off it within an urban street scene and the reader reasonably assumes the term pig refers to them, but the photo is a bit superfluous, perhaps descriptive of intent, the term refers to an actual pig trap.

The taxi driver describes meeting two people. The first is a fare with an alarming response to simple discussion. The rider said something incredibly provocative, while demonstrating and maintaining clear thought and astute response to query, and with decisive uncompromising conclusions, the whole thing disquieting. The driver dismissed the rider and his thoughts as conspiracy in nature but over time the man's saying continued to nag. And nag. And nag. The description of posture caught my attention. The driver describes noticing what I would have noticed.

The second person the driver describes he sought out for endorsement and for photos to include in a website, previous to driving a cab. This is the pig trap person, a Ted Nugent type minus the flash, hype and ego. The author describes his live-off the land lifestyle, his non-hunting approach to animal husbandry that the man developed for himself on his own land.

In the cab driver's synthesis, the pig trap is metaphor for what government is doing to the country in stages. He nicely correlates present day political activities with his endorser's method of herding intelligent creatures to slaughter by using their their need, their greed, and their complacency in overriding their intelligence.

"Customer shoots, kills gunman at Orrville Dollar General"

"One person is dead after a customer at the Dollar General in Orrville began shouting and waving his gun in the air."

Dallas County Sheriff Harris Huffman said the incident appeared to be a case of self-defense and no one has been arrested in connection with the shooting Thursday afternoon.

The incident occurred when Dallas County resident Kevin Mclaughlin entered Dollar General reportedly waving a pistol in the air, Huffman said. Mclaughlin then ushered a group of people inside the store into a break room.

“It appears that once the cashier got inside the break room, a customer that was walking into the break room shot the individual, the white male, with the pistol,” Huffman said. “There was only one shot fired and that shot struck the individual with the pistol causing the disturbance.”

District Attorney Michael Jackson confirmed the customer who reportedly shot Mclaughlin was Orrville resident Marlo Ellis.

Huffman said Ellis used his own weapon in the incident.

This is the kind of incident that makes the case for why a legally armed citizenry might be a good thing. If it wasn't for the internet, the incident would have appeared in the local paper and later archived at the local library, likely to be forgotten. Instead, it is made generally accessible so that citizens can make up their own minds, based on all relevant information and not just the prevalent, one sided media narrative.

NYT Social Q's: "Have Gun? Won’t Visit"

I am the mother of three small children. When the oldest was 2, we arrived at a relative’s house for a planned visit, and found a shotgun propped against the dining room wall and an open box of ammunition nearby. Fortunately, I was one step behind my curious son. But the incident caused a big fight; our relatives were offended that we asked them to lock up the gun during our visit. Since then, I’ve been proactive about guns in houses my children visit. But asking, “Do you have a gun in the house?” seems intrusive and somehow accusatory. How should I approach this?

Talk about prying it from their “cold, dead hands”! You may already have met the only adults in America who think that leaving rifles and live ammo where toddlers play is a good idea. Still, you have every right to confirm your children’s safety. Why not just say: “We had a scary play date recently with folks who left a gun lying around. We weren’t comfortable with that. Are you?” And then you’ll know. (But given your recent luck, you may as well scope out the playroom for “Hunger Games” crossbows when you drop your darlings off.)
