The flight, bound for Japan's Narita International Airport, had to make an emergency landing in Mexico's Sonora state after he began to have seizures.
Authorities said the man, identified as Udo N, died of a cerebral edema caused by a drug overdose.
The passenger transferred to the flight after starting his journey in the Colombian capital Bogotá.
According to a statement by Sonora's attorney general, the bags - measuring 2.5cm long and 1cm wide - were found in his stomach and intestines during the autopsy.
The remaining 198 passengers aboard were able to continue their journey after the emergency landing in the city of Hermosillo.

"Parrot taken into custody by police in Brazil for trying to warn drug dealers of raid"
A parrot who warned two alleged drug dealers in Brazil that police were coming was taken into custody after it almost foiled an undercover drug raid, authorities said.
When the green-and-white bird spotted officers Tuesday at its owners' Teresina home, the parrot squawked "Mama, Police!" in Portuguese, according to the local outlet Oliberal.com.
Despite the bird's efforts to tip off the owners, a man and woman were arrested, the outlet reports. Drugs, including crack and marijuana, were also found at the property as well as large amounts of money.
The parrot, who police did not name, has reportedly continued to show its loyalty to its owners and is refusing to sing like a canary. The Guardian reports that a local journalist said the bird won't talk to officers and "hasn't made a sound."
The parrot, who authorities believe was trained to spot police cars, is being kept at a zoo in Teresina, Oliberal.com reports.

"Human mood drugs end up in Great Lakes fish"
Via Instapundit: Antidepressant drugs, making their way through an increasing number of people’s bodies, getting excreted in small amounts into their toilets, and moving through the wastewater treatment process to lakes and rivers, are being found in multiple Great Lakes fish species’ brains, new research by the University of Buffalo has found.
Researchers detected high concentrations of both the active ingredients and metabolites — byproducts of the parent drug — of popular antidepressant pharmaceuticals including Zoloft, Prozac, Celexa and Sarafem in the brains of fish caught in the Niagara River connecting Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. . . .
Previous research has shown antidepressants in water create “suicidal shrimp” that swim toward light instead of away from it, making them vulnerable to predator fish and birds, Aga said.
“Other research teams have shown that antidepressants can affect the feeding behavior of fish, or their survival instincts,” Aga said. “Some fish won’t acknowledge the presence of predators as much.”

"Morgan Freeman’s step-granddaughter stabbed to death in ‘exorcism’"
"The granddaughter of acclaimed actor Morgan Freeman was stabbed to death on a Manhattan sidewalk early Sunday during what law-enforcement sources and witnesses described as an “exorcism” at the hands of her ranting boyfriend."
From the Daily Mail...
“Get out, devils! I cast you out, devils! In the name of Jesus Christ, I cast you out!” the killer yelled as he plunged a hunting knife into 33-year-old E’Dena Hines’ chest, according to George Hudacko, who witnessed the 3 a.m. attack from his apartment window in Washington Heights.
Her live-in boyfriend, Lamar Davenport, 30, was in the throes of a drug-induced psychosis when he came after her, police sources said.
“Jesus Christ is born!” he shouted maniacly over her body.

Ray Roasrio, who claims to be Davenport's best friend, says he went out for dinner with the couple and some friends late on Saturday night, and it was the happiest he had seen Hines for a long time.
He told The Daily Beast: 'I’m still trying to come to grips with what happened. I’m caught between the hate I have for him, my love for him being my brother, and my heart breaking for her.'

"FedEx Indicted for Shipping Drugs for Online Pharmacies"
"FedEx delivered drugs to Internet pharmacies that supplied pills to customers who filled out online questionnaires, and were never examined by doctors -- knowing these practices violated federal and state drug laws, the government alleged."

KLEM FM
Ozzy Osbourne appeared briefly onstage with Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler the other night on the Grammys:
I used to love Black Sabbath. But by the time I got to see them -- in 1974 -- they could barely put on a show. They showed up over an hour late at their Madison, WI show and played for less than that. My most vivid memory (from safely off to the right up in the stands) is the lights abruptly coming back up after 45 minutes or so and the angry mob of drunken fans refusing to leave. A well-aimed, empty liquor bottle struck Bill Ward's bass drum and bounced off. Black Sabbath had sodded off, never to return. I was pissed off -- $4.50 was a lot of money to me then -- equivalent to $25 or so today.
Ozzy explains what was going wrong behind the scenes at the time:
(The clip is from Penelope Spheeris' epic "The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years"). Watching Ozzy cook bacon and pour orange juice is worth the click.
Black Sabbath still can't seem to reconcile with original drummer Bill Ward. My cursory read is that they badly mistreated him over the years and still enjoy doing so. Screw them. I won't forgive them or give them another dime until they do. Nobody lives forever, so kiss and make up.
"McDonald's worker's Happy Meals had a bit extra: heroin, authorities say"
"A McDonald's employee in Pittsburgh was arrested Wednesday after undercover police officers said they discovered her selling heroin in Happy Meal boxes, according to a criminal complaint."
Shantia Dennis, 26, was arrested after undercover law enforcement officials conducted a drug buy...CNN
Customers looking for heroin were instructed to go through the drive-through and say, "I'd like to order a toy." The customer would then be told to proceed to the first window, where they would be handed a Happy Meal box containing heroin...
Dennis is charged with two counts of possession, one count of criminal use of a communication facility, one count of prohibited acts of delivery and one count of possession with intent to deliver.

Drugs and alcohol
Two things: This is a video of Bill Hicks comedically discussing drugs. He is speaking for humorous effect, to provoke laughter at a comedy club. His act is a mixture of truth and fiction.
This is a link to another 6.5 minute video of Birmingham characters and their commitment to cider. They are the real deal, real people. These characters are not in a comedy club paid to be funny. I am not clear what cider is but it sounds terrible. The video is not for the faint of heart. I had to turn away twice, I mean actually turn my head and stop looking. The same freaky old man, twice. Come to think of it, maybe that is his comedic act.
Jeeze, Louise.
Regarding recent Colorado marijuana legislation, some of the conservative sites on my regular circuit, yours too I betchya, put me in mind of the 1920-1933 era of control freaks descending upon the weary public apparently too tired to stand up for their own natural born rights, with their insistences and one-size-fits-everything moralizing legality, spurious claims and outright power moves to control the behavior of everybody else. Basically to have good solid piss all over the freedom of their fellow citizens. Back then, prohibition was a way of expressing through law, "I really do not like you, now change!" A forceful and aggressive indulgence on a national scale. I feel forced to remind today's conservative writers be sure to take an extra hatchet with you to the dispensaries, Carrie. I will not mention which old woman I have in mind specifically but the name sounds a little bit like Schmallah Schmundit. Prohibition did not make sense to me when I first heard of it at about ten years old, and prohibition of any sort never did make sense to me this whole time, and prohibition still does not make sense now. All arguments sound like worn out old ladies banging on the same discredited prejudices.
One commenter actually wrote the three latest mass killers had two things in common, madness and being exceedingly fond of marijuana. He thinks that is a winning argument and not a joke with its own copyrighted template -- "A man killed thirty people in a theater today after smoking a bowl of pot and from skipping his medication for psychosis, but mostly from skipping his meds for psychosis."
The reporting I've seen is deplorable. Photos of long lines suggesting that is the situation across the whole state. Presenting that as representative. I asked and was told that only twenty dispensaries went the recreational route. The law too dodgy, beta testing aversion, all the other dispensaries are sticking with the old rules for now until things are more fully sorted. Thus the long lines shown in photographs. Anyone claiming something so ridiculous as Colorado being one big choom gang is full of shit. And aggressively so.
Oddly, the owner of the dispensary a few blocks away is named Carrie. I just now gave her some candy. She is beautiful, gorgeous in fact, and not anything conservative caricature would have her. And her husband is an upstanding dude too. He is nothing that conservative imagination would have him to be.
Now, the characters in and out of the bottle shop downstairs on the other hand are a whole different story, along with the people that run it, an entirely different harsher more dangerous and darker little world down there. You never know what is going to happen and the whole place, front and back and all around invites vagrants and panhandlers and sidewalk pissers.

Sometimes The Straight People Are Right...
…and they’re right in the fact that one drug will lead to another ‘cause you meet more people who are doing drugs, you know? ~ Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister
