"Hands On with the TSA's New 'Enhanced' Pat-Down Procedure"

Via Drudge:  For those curious about what the "enhanced" pat-down involves, I had a first-hand experience (no pun intended) Sunday evening September 10 in the Kansas City airport. (This is going exactly where you think it's going, so feel free to stop reading right now.)

After going through a metal detector in the TSA-Pre security line, I was randomly selected to see if a machine would detect explosives on my hands. My palms were swabbed and the machine detected explosives, even though I had not recently handled a gun, flammable liquids, or any sort of explosives. Another airline passenger told me the same machine had detected explosives on the hands of another passenger who had gone through the line minutes before I did.

So what precisely does the "enhanced" pat-down seem to entail, you ask?

Well, since you asked, the agent runs his hand inside a passenger's waistband and also runs his hand up the back of each leg until he "meets resistance" and then does the same from the front of each leg. And then the TSA agent swipes the front of his hands 3 or 4 times right over the zipper area of one's Gap Outlet comfort-stretch khakis. That last part was the most unpleasant.

For what it's worth, this isn't the story of an agent who didn't know how to do a pat-down. The agent described exactly what he was going to do before he did it and seemed to be simply carrying out the government's policy. I'm sure he'd like a job that involves less groping.

Speaker Ryan: "It's better to be safe than to be sorry"

"A total of 30 governors, including one Democrat, so far have expressed opposition to the plan [to bring into the US tens of thousands of Syrian refugees] in the wake of Friday's attacks, executed by at least one suspected Syrian refugee with ties to the Islamic State terror group and who perhaps slipped through Europe’s vetting process."
However, scholars and legal experts acknowledge that governors have little if any power to stop refugees from entering their states, citing the Refugee Act of 1980 which gives the federal government the authority.
“Immigration is a federal responsibility,” James Carafano, a national security and foreign policy analyst with the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C., said Tuesday...
Administration officials also reiterated that President Obama's top priority is "the safety of the American people."
"Even as the United States accepts more refugees-including Syrians-we do so only after they undergo the most rigorous screening and security vetting of any category of traveler to the United States," the White House said.
Speaking of "rigorous screening and security"... "Undercover DHS Tests Find Security Failures at US Airports" reported as recent as June of this year.
According to officials briefed on the results of a recent Homeland Security Inspector General’s report, TSA agents failed 67 out of 70 tests, with Red Team members repeatedly able to get potential weapons through checkpoints.
I know, apples and oranges some might say, it will probably be a different agency doing the Syrian refugee screening. But, do we really want to take the chance they wont miss any ISIS sympathizers? People who didn't notice Hillary was handling national secrets from a home brew server, for four years?

By the way, remember the downed plane the press was focusing on before the Paris attacks?.. Russia says bomb brought down jet in Sinai.

"Transgender Woman Says She Was Delayed by TSA for Anatomical 'Anomaly'"

It's the kid school clock story, déjà vu all over again.
"I stepped into the full body scanner, the TSA agent looked at me and pressed the F button," Petosky said in an interview with NBC News via text message. "The scanner picked up an 'anomaly' in my crotch area."
"I said, 'I'm transgender. That's my penis,'" Petosky recalled. "The TSA officer then said something like, 'If you are a man, then go back in the machine and we'll run you as a man.'"...
According to Petosky, the TSA officer replied, "If you don't want to be run as a man, we'll have to search you. Are you a man or a woman?"
Then he asked her whether she wanted a male or female agent to search her body.
"I kind of froze. I have never been flagged in the groin before and didn't want to make a female officer touch there, but didn't want a man to do the pat down," she said.
Exactly who am I supposed to be?

"LAX Gunman Identified After Airport Shooting Spree"

"A gunman armed with an assault rifle entered a terminal at Los Angeles International Airport today, killed a TSA agent, and penetrated deep into the terminal before he was captured by police."
Five other people, including three other TSA officers, were injured in the incident.
The shooting sent hundreds of passengers streaming out of the terminal with many fleeing onto the airport runway. Dozens of flights to and from the airport were delayed or cancelled. It also triggered a "tactical alert" for the Los Angeles Police Department.
The shooting began around 9:20 a.m. in the usually crowded terminal.
The shooter, initially identified as Paul Ciancia, pulled an assault rifle from a bag and blasted his way past airport screeners, said Los Angeles World Airports Police Chief Patrick Gannon.
Ciancia, 23, is believed to be from Pennsville, N.J., however authorities said he has a residence in Los Angeles.
Saryan said the gunman asked him, "Are you TSA?"
"He saw me. He looked at me with a quizzical look and said, 'TSA?' And I just shook my head. So he moved on," Saryan said.

TSA: "Let's take a closer look at those breasts."

From The Mirror (as reputable a publication, in terms of veracity of their stories, as the NYT, or the National Enquirer):
Heathrow Airport is on high terror alert amid fears women suicide bombers are ready to strike with explosives concealed in breast implants.
Security checks have been beefed up after “credible” intelligence that al-Qaeda is plotting attacks on airlines flying out of London.
One staff member said: “There are genuine fears over this.
"We have been told to pay particular attention to females who may have concealed hidden explosives in their breasts."

Threat level:  Defcon 4.
Somewhere, a thousand skeezy TSA agents just went full-boner.  Rest assured that directives and procedures are already being fleshed out for new advanced search techniques like the squeeze-and-jiggle, the nipple tweak, and the motorboat.
