I love food!
Sixty Grit said "I hate food."
That's the most Protestant thing I think I ever heard. Yes Sixty is salt of the earth Scots Irish. The stock that built this country. Dining on beans and weevil biscuits and the occasional squirrel. The Irish who came next were no better. They didn't like to eat. They preferred to drink. It was only when the Guineas and the Greeks and the Polacks and the Jews came over did America start to eat. No more passenger pigeons and occasional rodents. Instead it was brisket and veal parm and pirogues.
Food is life. You have to enjoy your food and revel in its life affirming goodness.
Above is the gluten free lasagna that I made on Monday night. I found these great gluten free noodles that are superb. So good that my ultra picky mother in law came back for thirds.
This is what you are missing out on buddy.

A movie to watch tonight......Feast Of The Seven Fishes
Monday, September 9, 2019
I missed the feast of San Genaro so I made sausage and peppers on the grill at home.
So a local parish is having a San Genaro feast this past weekend and we thought we might go. Now it will not be like the old fashioned feasts I remember from when I was a kid. They might have a few sausage and peppers and zeppole carts but a lot of the old stands will be missing.
You won't have the gold fish bowls where you threw a ping pong ball into the bowl and you got a goldfish in a plastic bag in water. You would run home and put it in the macaroni pot with tap water and wake up the next day to see it floating dead on the top of the water. It gave a young child a glimpse into how fleeting life could be.
The won't have the casino games like roulette and blackjack that church would be running in the back room with the suspiciously high buy in that wiseguys in the neighborhood would run. That's a thing of the past.
We decided not to go because there is not anything Lisa can eat and not anything I am allowed to eat. So we decided to stay home and I grilled a sausage ring with parsley and cheese, I fried up some onions and garlic and added some roasted peppers. Then I took the sausage ring off the grill and cut them up and put them in the pan to adsorb some flavor.
We enjoyed it and best of all it is gluten free.
Now I am feast free.

I missed you ...sorta
So I sorta missed youse guys because I haven't been on the internet much these last few months. Various reasons. Health. Being busy doing other stuff like trying to write. Mostly I have been idling away my time on my phone. Most of the time I am doing Instagram.
