Bill Clinton stumps for Hillary to low turnout crowd
![]() |
| picture above okay'd by Salon editor Joan Walsh for 2012 Sarah Palin article |
Excerpt from today's NYT:
"But Mr. Clinton’s most pointed remarks may have been when he took aim at Sanders supporters who, he said, use misogynistic language in attacking Mrs. Clinton. He told the story of a female “progressive” blogger who defended Mrs. Clinton online through a pseudonym because, he said, the vitriol from Mr. Sanders’s backers was so unrelenting.
“She and other people who have gone online to defend Hillary, to explain why they supported her, have been subject to vicious trolling and attacks that are literally too profane often, not to mention sexist, to repeat.” Mr. Clinton, growing more demonstrative, added that the liberal journalist Joan Walsh had faced what he called “unbelievable personal attacks” for writing positively about Mrs. Clinton [my emphasis].
...The appearance by Mr. Clinton, absent the entourage and crowds that usually surround the former president, was striking and somewhat poignant, and it felt far apart from the frenzied final campaigning happening around the state on Sunday. The junior high school’s small gym was not full, and only a handful of reporters showed up, at a time when campaign events are being flooded with dozens of national and international journalists."

"Sarah Palin Endorses Donald Trump"
NYT: “I’m proud to endorse Donald J. Trump for president,” Ms. Palin said in a statement provided by his campaign.
Her support is the highest-profile backing for a Republican contender so far.
“I am greatly honored to receive Sarah’s endorsement,” Mr. Trump said in a statement trumpeting Mrs. Palin’s decision. “She is a friend, and a high-quality person whom I have great respect for. I am proud to have her support.”

I never expected this endorsement, not in a million years.

“You can absolutely say that I am seriously interested”
“I am. As I said yesterday, I’m really interested in the opportunity to serve at some point,” Palin said Friday, as former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum, a potential 2016 rival, looked on.
Palin said, “It is a significant step, of course, for anyone to publicly announce that they’re interested. Who wouldn’t be interested? Who wouldn’t be interested when they have been blessed with opportunities to speak about what is important to this country and for this country?”

Lead foot
"[Sarah Palin] was stopped in her hometown of Wasilla last Wednesday for going 63 in a 45 MPH zone in her Toyota Tundra. The cop wrote her up and she was on her way.
Palin cops to the crime, telling us, "I wasn't speeding, I was qualifying." She didn't accept full blame, saying Sammy Hagar's, "I Can't Drive 55" on the oldies station contributed to her lead foot.
We're told Palin will pay the $154 ticket STAT.

NYT: "How Much Should Hepatitis C Treatment Cost?"
"A new pill to treat hepatitis C raises difficult questions about fair pricing, not only in the United States and other affluent nations but in developing countries around the world. Hepatitis C, which afflicts some 150 million people globally, often without symptoms for years, can cause fatigue and fever, cirrhosis or liver cancer."
The pill, known as Sovaldi, or generically as sofosbuvir, costs $84,000 for a standard 12-week course of treatment. That breaks down to $1,000 for each pill, taken daily. The manufacturer, California-based Gilead Sciences, says private insurers are already covering Sovaldi...Now, where have I heard about a panel in relationship to healthcare? The name Sarah Palin pops into my head. That woman, Sarah Palin, didn't know what she was talking about, they all said.
Gilead says the price is consistent with the cost of previous treatment regimens (a contention disputed by independent experts) and is reasonable given that the drug can have fewer side effects and cures a higher percentage of patients compared with other drugs...
However, a panel of experts at a recent forum in San Francisco concluded that the drug offered “low value” for treating most patients, in large part because of its high price. READ MORE

CNN: "Sarah Palin may be having a bragging rights moment"
"In 2008, when she was the GOP vice presidential nominee, Palin questioned in a speech whether then-Sen. Barack Obama would have the foreign policy credentials to handle a scenario in which Russian President Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine."
Meanwhile, former Defense secretary Gates, "dismantles Joe Biden’s elder statesman status*", declaring in his recent memoir that Biden had been “wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.”
CNN, The Wire, Politico *6th paragraph
After the Russian army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama's reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence – the kind of response that would only encourage Russia's Putin to invade Ukraine next," she said in Reno, Nevada on October 21, 2008.Left leaning publication The Wire is having to grudgingly acknowledge that Sarah Palin was right.
The former Alaska governor was happy to highlight her prediction on Friday and scold those who criticized her 2008 comments.
"Yes, I could see this one from Alaska," she said on Facebook. That remark was a reference to a 2008 interview in which Palin argued that Alaska's proximity to Russia helped boost her foreign policy experience.
So some of these things did happen! Administration officials sat down with Iran and worked out a temporary agreement to curb the refinement of uranium. The United States violated Pakistan's sovereign territory without its knowledge — to kill Osama bin Laden. And he is drawing down troops in Iraq. Whether or not you think that all of these things resulted in "crises," in Palin's evocative terminology, is up to you.
But it doesn't really seem like she deserves credit for the Ukraine thing. For one thing, calling what's happening at the moment an "invasion" is overly strong...Overly strong? Palin's predictions, coming to be as a result of the election of Obama, have come to pass, just as she had predicted them. Watch the video after clicking Read More below.

Sarah Palin returns to TV
"Sarah Palin is returning to reality TV, this time with the show Amazing America on the Sportsman Channel. The show will be aimed at and feature stories of Americans “interested in hunting, fishing and shooting.” And the Sportsman Channel has released the first promo for the show.
The promo capitalizes on Palin’s notoriety with quotes about how much attention she grabs from a few news sources over the years, not to mention features quite a lot of red, white, and blue."

ZING!
But you've got the fundamentalist wing of gay advocacy—Rich Ferraro and Andrew Sullivan—they're out there, they've got you. ~Alec Baldwin"Fundamentalist wing of gay advocacy" -- zing!
BTW, why is it that MSNBC is so upset about Baldwin's in-the-street-but-not-off camera remarks but remain non-plussed, non-responsive and unashamed of Martin Bashir's repulsive on-air-and-editorially-blessed-somebody-should-shit-and-piss-in-Sarah-Palin's-mouth remarks?

"Now You Can Own Sarah Palin's SUV"
"Her hometown of Wasilla, Alaska is selling the SUV it purchased for her [Sarah Palin] in 1999 when she was its mayor on eBay."
The Ford Expedition with just over 74,000 miles is being sold "as is" for a minimum of $10,000, despite the fact that the Kelly Blue Book value for such a car in excellent condition, according to the AP, is $2,318. And it's not in excellent condition, really: according to the listing it needs new brakes, new wheel seals and an idle air control valve.
For Sale
UPDATE: Town's eBay sale of Palin mayoral SUV causes stir ... A Fairbanks woman won the SUV on Nov. 27 with an online bid of $10,300, about $8,000 above its estimated value.
