"Windows 8 is not the platform for a PC, AFAIK. It works awesome on Windows phones, which are massively under-rated (as far as market share goes). The camera features on Nokias surpass just about anything else and the apps Windows offers get better and better." 

I'm still in the Dark Ages with my little red Samsung slider, which I like as far as tactility, size, and cheerful red color. But it has terrible sound quality as far as hearing people speak, and even worse picture function. Terrible resolution.

My sister was raving about how I need to get an iPhone, but I can't handle the touchscreen keyboard. Besides, it will be a while before I upgrade to a smart phone. What do you think is the best phone smart phone?

"Chicopee woman faces wiretapping charges after allegedly recording her own arrest"

"A Chicopee woman apparently got a little too loud and belligerent while drinking on Chestnut Street Sunday morning, and refused to cooperate with police when they asked her to quiet down. When she was about to be arrested, police say the woman activated the voice recording feature on her smart phone, hid it in her purse and surreptitiously‎ recorded the entire arrest. Florida Man is Lucky To Be Alive

"Rutledge is a truck driver from Orlando, Fla. He was on his way to Indiana with a delivery when this week’s winter storm hit."

About 6 a.m. Monday, after the snow passed, Rutledge was staying at a truck stop in Whiteland. His brakes were frozen, so he went under the truck to fix them. That’s when the truck shifted in the snow.

“It caught my left side and my left arm was pinned by the axle of the truck,” Rutledge said.

He was stuck in below-zero temperatures, unable to move.

“I wound up being frozen to the pavement in the snow,” Rutledge said. “As I got colder and colder, I was yelling but nobody could hear me.”

That’s where that miracle – or maybe something more – came in.

Will the Smart Phone change the Web as we Know it?

"If you follow the data on mobile vs desktop sales you’ll notice that not only will the installed base of mobile devices surpass desktop but it will almost 2x in two years."

This qualifies as a paradigm shift in computing. Smartphones and tablets are essentially different mediums with different habits and a whole new human–computer interaction science. In-fact many consumers —specially in emerging markets— are jumping directly to the use of a smartphone or tablet computer without buying or learning how to use a desktop PC.

There are more than 5 billion mobile phones in the world, with almost 4 billion feature phones and more than 1 billion smartphones. As smartphone prices come down, many people who currently have feature phones will be able to afford smartphones over the next 5 years.

This comes from the document explaining the internet.org initiative by Facebook. Which is something I’m really excited about, it would simply help balance out the economic differences in the world a little bit by getting the rest of the world online. If a success, this will cause an explosion in the smartphone and tablet installed base units.
