Football is dead to me ... and it should be dead to you too!

  

I was a big football fan. I had a season ticket to the New York Giants during the great years of the 1980's when they won their first two Super Bowls. I was glued to the TV every Sunday. I went to the bar to watch Monday night football every week with my cronies. We bet like crazy. On games. Prop bets. Pools. The Super Bowl was a holiday with a party and a big ta-do.

I haven't seen a game in almost ten years.

I do not watch football anymore. The National Felons League has forfeited the regard of normal Americans in my eyes. They have normalized criminal behavior and celebrate "Urban" culture while having these criminals kneel to celebrate other petty criminals and disrespect our nation and it's sacred symbols.

Once upon a time I was a big time Giants fan. I had season tickets. I followed every minute of every game. I even went to training camp every year to see the new draft picks. But when the National Felons League descended into the abyss, I gave up my hard earned allegiance to Big Blue.

I do read some blogs about sports though to keep abreast of the sports world that I have divorced myself from because of its utter depravity. One of the best sires is Clay Travis's "Out Kick." He just posted something that made me want to puke.

Supposedly they want to bring ex-Miami coach Brian Flores to coach. Nothing good comes from the Dolphins. I remember when they imported Larry Csonka and he sucked balls. People move to Florida from New York. Not the other way around.

The kicker is that they want to import serial rapist Deshaun Watson. Twenty-two women say he raped them. That doesn't seem to bother the Mara's. Or the sick degenerate remnants of that once proud family. 

I remember when the Giants represented class. The hard work and values of the white working class. Kyle Rote. Andy Robustelli. Sam Huff. Tucker Fredrickson. 

Slowly but surely the values changed. Superior athletes who embraced the criminal lifestyle were incorporated into the team. Lawrence Taylor. The asshole who shot himself. Paxlico was his name. This latest move would be the last straw. Bringing a serial rapist in to lead your team. A guy who should be in jail is behind the center and the star of your team. 

Disgrazia.

A rare case where Victor Davis Hanson is wrong!

Did you read the latest from Victor Davis Hanson the superb commentator?  He states that "The NFL is on the Brink."

"Racial issues are often virtue-signaled in the NFL — but almost never in an honest way. New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees recently objected to players not honoring the flag. But he quickly caved when a media mob damned him. In contrast, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson posted a series of anti-Semitic tweets last week, even falsely attributing a quote to Adolf Hitler. That disconnect posed a bizarre question for the NFL: Is it worse for a player to be pro–American flag or anti-Semitic?

NFL owners and head coaches are almost all white. But nearly three-quarters of the players are black. Those who play the game obviously want to see more diversity in coaching and ownership.

In a culture so obsessed with identity politics, is it the players or the owners and coaches (or both) who do not “look like America”?

Given that about 13 percent of the U.S. population is black, and given that the Black Lives Matter movement embraces concepts such as proportional representation, today’s NFL teams hardly qualify as diverse. Social activists might argue that the league should mentor and recruit more Latinos, Asian Americans, and Native Americans to better reflect their percentages of our diverse national population.

Perhaps an NFL compromise could ensure that 30 percent of coaches and owners are nonwhite, thus reflecting current U.S. demography. But then, in reciprocity, the players would match such mandatory demographic diversity — leading to Native Americans, Latinos, Asians, whites, and those of mixed ancestry accounting for 87 percent of the player population. The NBA might also take note.'

I think that the estimable Dr. Hanson is incorrect. The NFL has Thelma and Lousied it over the cliff. They are long past the point of no return. They are not just Anti-American they are Anti-white. They have spit in the face of the majority of their fans. The league is full of felons and criminals who are indulged because of their animal athletic ability. The top New York Giant player was just arrested for armed robbery. Domestic violence is on the rap sheets of half of the league. Instead of weeding out the criminals the leauge endorses and encoruages them. 

I have given up on them long ago when the kneeling started. More and more Americans are waking up to their bias and hatred of us the majority of their fans. The momentum of what had gone before might carry on for a while still. But many of their former fans will no longer bring their kids into the realm of fandom.

This has happened before. At one time boxing, baseball and horse racing were the three biggest sports in America. When boxing became a black sport followed by a white fandom it declined a great deal and only certain spectacular champions brought a modicum of popularity. Now it is as dead as Murphy's dick. They make some money here and there but nothing like it used to be. This is footballs future.

Victor Davis Hanson is wrong. Football has already fallen into the abyss.

The Black What?

OK, we've all heard the news that, opening week of the NFL season, they will sing "Lift Every Voice", otherwise called the Black National Anthem.

As you will see, the lyrics aren't unpatriotic and were written by a black Republican protesting Jim Crow, especially the lynchings. As we all know, Jim Crow was a Democrat institution and the Solid South was a Democrat mainstay in Congress as well as the White House.

So what's the deal? Make the Republicans look good? Make the Demos look bad?

Just another way of hating on America? Or are they really that ignorant of the origins of the song? Will players be kneeling?

Be interesting to see what the white, Hispanic, or Polynesian players do.

Defund the NFL

All of us have our own hobbyhorses. You know that issue that really gets you up in arms. For many moolies it is police brutality. For some woman it is sexual harassment in the Me Too style as long as it doesn't affect people who have the same politics.

For me it is the Anti-Americanism of the NFL.

We had a perfect example of the cowardice and the abrogation of American values in the recent Drew Breeze fiasco. He sent out an innocuous tweet that said that all lives matters. The virtue signalling and the social justice police came down on him and punked out like a little bitch.

Watch Joe Namath get creamed.

That's what football used to be about. Players on the field. Men were men and stood by their opinions. Their flag. Their country. They didn't surrender to the politically correct mob. 

Here is head poofter Roger Goodell abandoning a large segment of his fan base:

“We, the National Football League, condemn racism and the systematic oppression of black people,” Goodell continued. “We, the National Football League, admit we were wrong for not listening to NFL players earlier and encourage all to speak out and peacefully protest. We, the National Football League, believe Black Lives Matter. I personally protest with you and want to be part of the much-needed change in this country.”

I have given up on the NFL ever since the kneeling for the National Anthem began. I had been a fan for fifty years but I walked away. I urge all patriotic Americans to follow suit and leave this anti american league made up of felons and racial activists to stew in their own juices.

"Patriots owner Robert Kraft solicited prostitute, police say"

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft is being charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution after he was twice videotaped paying for a sex act at an illicit massage parlor, police in Florida said Friday.

Jupiter police told reporters Friday that the 77-year-old Kraft hasn’t been arrested. A warrant will be issued and his attorneys will be notified. Kraft has denied wrongdoing.

Jupiter Police Chief Daniel Kerr said he was shocked to learn Kraft, who is worth $6 billion, was paying for sex inside a strip-mall massage parlor, the Orchids of Asia Day Spa.

“We are as equally stunned as everyone else,” Kerr said.

In Bob Kraft's defense, things started going hairy for him since he started eating salads with a comb.

We won so much as the Green Bay Packers that it got boring. I mean they started calling Green Bay by the nickname “Title Town.” We were the first in so many things.

We were among the first to have so many Negro Players. We were among the first to have a player suspended for gambling. The first to have players wife’s sitting in their own section in the stadium. The first to really interact with the fans who were our twelfth man on the field. But most of all we were among the first to really celebrate wins by carrying our coach off the field. 

Coach Lombardi was tough. He drove us day and night. But we love him because he did everything with the sole goal of winning. He would always say “Winning isn't everything it is the only thing.” Coach put an enormous amount of pressure on the team to win. Extra practices. Repetition. Memorizing the play book.  Whatever it took.

When we won a game it took just a little pressure off for a time. We would go crazy. Coach would scold us and tell us that when we got to the end zone we should look like we had been there before. So we were always careful when we are on the field but once the game was over we would go crazy and pick up Coach and carry him off the field. Coach was alright with that because the focus was where it belonged. On him.

Once you have lost Trooper York....you have lost America!

This is the story I’ve been expecting to see since the pre-season began, honestly. The NFL has been embroiled in one controversy after another for more than a few years. Through it all, the fans have still remained largely loyal and the ratings for broadcasts have been a proven winner in the advertising market. With that as the backdrop there’s been very little incentive for change. But this year something has been different. I’m still watching the Jets’ games, but I found myself losing interest in sitting through some of the other contests. While preparing for our weekly prognostication battle, Ed Morrissey even signaled on a recent Monday night that he’d be watching something other than the big game.

It wasn't just us. As Pat Imig reports at the Sporting News, viewer-ship is down and it’s not simply a one week blip on the radar.

The League of Integrity, the National Football League, is beginning to learn it’s not infallible after all.

Early TV ratings reports show viewer-ship is down in prime-time games and in featured national telecasts.

The NFL Kickoff game on NBC was down from a year ago, and the Week 3 “Sunday Night Football” telecast between major markets Dallas and Chicago was down 7 percent from 2015 (Denver-Detroit). That’s pretty significant when you consider the market sizes.

We also have seen the two lowest-rated “Monday Night Football” telecasts since at least 2009, which includes a Week 2 snoozer between Philadelphia and Chicago. The Week 3 contest between Atlanta and New Orleans drew a 5.7 overnight rating, which would be the lowest MNF rating ever on ESPN.

I suppose it would be easy for most of us who follow the sport to single out one issue which is causing this. Pat Imig lists quite a few suspects on the list of possibilities and I wouldn’t be surprised if many of us were quick to point to Colin Kaepernick and the spate of other players protesting the national anthem. To be sure, that’s got to be a factor. I’d hardly be the first to pen a column about how football is a treasured tradition where even the most politically involved among us get to set aside the daily grind of partisan warfare and just enjoy ourselves for a few hours. And protesting the national anthem is simply unpatriotic, no matter what motivated you to do it. Who needs a serving of that alongside their beer and hot wings?

They once were Giants.

At one time I was just about the biggest sports fan you could find. I had season tickets to the Knicks for around twenty years. I had season tickets to the Giants for ten years. I had season ticket plans for the Yankees for about thirty years. I mean not full plans. But a Saturday or a Sunday plan. I have been to innumerable playoff games. World Series Games. NBA championship games when the Knicks were in it.

But little by little my fandom has been stripped away. The greed of the owners and players has a lot to do with it. Giant fans used to be a family. The tickets were passed down from father to son. The waiting list had 20,000 people on it. You couldn't get a seat inYankee Stadium or the first Meadowlands unless you knew somebody. But then they started with the seat licenses. And most of the old timers gave up their seats. I mean they could pay even $100 a game but not twenty thousand in seat licenses. So new people came in. Tickets are easy to get on Stubhub or on the internet. You don't have to go to a broker. Or have to sell to a broker if you have extra seats.

The Yankees were a different case. When they decided to trash tradition and get a new Stadium I was heart broken.  I had been to the old Stadium so many times it is impossible to count. I went to the original stadium with my dad in the sixties. I practically lived there in the 1970's and 1980's. I saw all the great Jeter teams with my season ticket package. But the new stadium leaves me cold. It is all cordoned off and they move you like cattle. No more sneaking down for a better seat. It just sucks.

I have been a football fan for over fifty years. My Dad took me to my first game when I was six in the first grade. We went to Yankee Stadium to see the Giants. They had a great team. Went to the Championship game and lost. Allie Sherman was the coach. YA Tittle. Frank Gifford. Dick Lynch. Sam Huff. The old Giants.

We got to go to one game a year. It was impossible to get tickets. They were handed down from one family member to another. There was a ten year waiting list. But we would scrounge and get a ticket now then through the down years with Fran Tarkington and Norm Snead and Joe Pisarcik. They had moved to Jersey by then so it was a hike.

Leon Crenshaw went back to work today, back to grass drills and wind sprints. They kept him in the hospital for only four or five hours, gave him some intravenous injections and sent him back to training camp. Leon's one of a half a dozen Negro rookies trying out for the team, and I was thinking today that when I joined the Packers in 1958, there was only one Negro on the whole team. Now we eight Negros in the starting lineup, and four of them made the All-Pro team.

We have the Negros because of Lombardi. Don't get me wrong he doesn't like them very much. He calls them "moolies" and is much harder on them than anyone else. But he would use anyone to win. He would even use a Chinaman if he had too! 

It is the people of Wisconsin that really hate the Negros. They are all upset with the civil rights situation in the South and will protest and raise money and all of that. But they don't want to live next to them. Green Bay is about the whitest place in the world. The Negro players are very uncomfortable about living there. They tell me they have to live in the "Toe" in Milwaukee. I asked them "What is the Toe?" They said "The Get-toe!" I guess that is where you can catch them.

Everyone always assumed that Coach Lombardi was Catholic. He went along with this because when he was with the New York Giants he had to fit in. Wellington Mara was a devout Catholic and he tried to curry favor with the Mara's so he could get the head coaching job of the Giants which was the one thing he most coveted in his life. But it was not to be so he had to settle for a rinky dink town like Green Bay.

One of the advantages was that he could finally be himself. You see he actually was a Mormon and had twenty two wives who all looked pretty much the same and all insisted that he buy them a mink stole every year. He had a hell of a time getting them tickets for the Super Bowl.  Especially leaving the ducats at the will-call window. Strangely enough they were all named Marie except for the youngest who was named Margene.

They lived happily ever after in Wisconsin which has long been home to many unusual lifestyle choices.

We lost Willie Davis for two games this week. To a concussion. All because of domestic violence.

Not Willie of course. He is a pussycat who wouldn't hurt a fly. He wouldn't lift a finger to his wife. It seems his wife Bertha beat the crap out of him. She brained her with the frying pan that she was making pancakes with yesterday morning. You see Big Bertha only knows how to cook pancakes because that is what she learned from her Auntie. Plus rice which she learned how to cook from her Uncle. I think she called it perverted rice or something but it is pretty good.

Anyway Willie causally asked if they could have something other than rice because he was starting to feel like a Chinaman and that is when Big Bertha brained him with the skillet. So we don't have a defensive end this weekend for the game against the Eagles.

Coach Lombardi has a strict no tolerance policy against domestic violence. He once cut Jerry Norton for beating up his maid. Now Jerry claimed it was an accident because he was practicing his punting and she walked right into his kick. She sort of got kicked in the punt so to speak.

But Coach didn't stand for that. He cut him then and there.

Why nerds and lawyers should not control the world!

Did you hear the latest bullshit being pushed by liberal nerd lawyer assholes. It seems that Fantasy Sports betting needs to be regulated because.....I don't know....because it is gambling or something.

You must have been annoyed by going to your favorite website and having a pop up ad for Fan Duel or Draft King come up. Or you will be listening to the sports station and an ad for these fantasy league website comes upon between the ads for Viagra and Cars for Kids. These are the sites that you can sign up and draft players and compete in a fantasy sports league in baseball or basketball or more frequently football. They handle all the stats and you can win big bucks because a bunch of losers from all over the country are involved and they have big winning pots. It's like on line poker for morons who think they know sports.

The scandal that has the lawyer nerds panties in a twist is that some of the employees of the sites are playing on the rivals sites. They are using some of the tips they have picked up by watching the smart players on their site. It is called handicapping douche bags. When you go to the track you bet along with people who have a good record of picking winners. It is gambling you morons. In fact it is more like laying off bets by the bookie. In any event it is not illegal. They have more information than some but the playing field is always unequal. Some players have more info than others. Some are just smarter. You can't regulate every freaking thing. But the Attorney General of New York and some ambulance chasers have a class action suit and the whole thing is a big mess.

I bet these douche bags never put down a bet in their life. They were too busy studying how to rip off the working man who likes to make a wager while drinking a beer and watching Monday Night football. We need a law.

Coach Lombardi was insistent that we pay attention to every detail. He worried about the lights in the film room and the food at the training table. The paper used to print up the play books. The size and type of towels in the locker room.

But most of all he was concerned about the balls.

Not his balls of course. The balls we used to play the game with on the field. You see depending on how the ball was inflated it could do different things. If it was inflated to the max when you kicked it would go really far. If it was deflated then it was easier for Bart Starr to grip and for the receivers to catch in the freezing cold tundra of Lambeau field. Of course you couldn't deflate them too much because of Hornung. You see he like to put them in his mouth. He loved to have balls in his mouth. He was funny that way.

Coach Lombardi was super strict about all of the equipment. The tackling sleds. The whirlpool. And of course the tackling dummies. He always tested them every training camp. He wanted to make sure they were big enough and hard enough. That is why he would sit on them and feel them between his cheeks.

At least that is what he said. Hey. He's the Coach.
