I rarely go to the movies...

...but Troop's earlier post that included the word "Rocinante" got me to thinking about a movie I saw last year. Rocinante was Don Quixote's horse and, like a lot of us, he was a hard worker who kept on keeping on. Back in June I went to a nearby film festival and saw a movie entitled "Donkeyote". It too, was a simple tale of a man and his quadruped sidekicks who go on a journey that might be described by an outsider as being quixotic. It was very entertaining and not even a bit topical nor political - just a nice story with a couple of laughs, it has a donkey, a dog, a man, his wife and very few other humans. What could be better, right? Well, I enjoyed it.

Springtime in my backyard.

I will resist the urge to cut and paste any music from Man of La Mancha, that is too clichéd even for me. Rather I shall attach some music from here in the Flatt lands. It kind of relates to one crucial scene in the movie.

"Woman who claims she owns the Sun..."

"...sues Ebay after she was banned from selling Sun's plots on the site."
A Spanish court is set to hear the most unusual arguments ever after a woman who claims to own the sun sued eBay for blocking her extraterrestrial real estate sales. Though it sounds a little nuts, a court in Madrid has ruled that 54-year-old Maria Duran has the right to have her case heard.

The 54-year-old registered the star in her name at a notary office in Spain, before opening an eBay account selling square-metre plots for one euro each.
I think the court was right to give her a hearing...

"Spain might pass law that would make children do chores and ‘be respectful’"

A report in ABC, a Spanish-language newspaper, notes that lawmakers in Spain are advancing a measure that would make children under the age of 18 take, “co-responsibility in caring for the home and performing household tasks regardless of age and gender.” As the BBC reports, this isn’t the only thing the parliament-approved draft law would do.

Aside from doing chores, children would, “also have to be respectful to their parents and teachers, and have a positive attitude towards learning.” You might be wondering what kind of punishment children found guilty of not participating in chores or lacking respect might face. You can keep wondering, because as The Local reports, “The draft law doesn't set out penalties for children who fail to fulfill these requirements.”
