Because you can do a thing doesn't mean that you should do that thing. Especially injecting silicon into your lips until you look like a cartoon character. How is that even slightly attractive?
I hate duck lips. Duck lips are ridiculous. And stupid. Why do (mostly) women do this? Nearly every dang photo of younger women on Facebook shows them with a duck lips face.
Just. Stop. It. Or you'll wind up looking like this.

I used to think it was a sign of a lack of self-awareness, at best, whenever a fashionable woman claimed she did it to please herself, not to make herself more attractive to men.
The passing years have convinced me that I was wrong.
There's an evolutionary explanation, probably, that I've been overlooking, but I still haven't got so much as a clue.
In some cases the message seems to be "I give good head."

Let's change the name to "dick lips" and cut through the ambiguity....
My recollection from when I was way younger, and way more naïve perhaps... was that when a girl did that to the camera, it was a form of polite fu.
Passive aggressive?
Telling a guy to back off?
Back then it cost money to print a fotog.
Although, it could have been that I imagined it that way, for reasons that I haven't thought about just now.
People's interactions are very very subtle sometimes.
Back in
But these are selfies... so it's something different going on.
Are people communicating with the camera?
That cant be it, could it?
They are communicating with themselves they are dreaming.
Somebody recently told me that dreams are ways of your subconscious reminding you of something important. Something important enough to qualify as needed for survival.
As more life and death decisions are removed from our hands, the dreaming awake becomes indistinguishable from dreaming asleep?
The dream world of the selfie.
Dream/nightmare
When I look at old pictures relatives they look very thin.
Current pictures of relatives on the other hand... is a different story.
Where Am I going with this?
Posing...
I have a post scheduled for this afternoon that will cover that in a certain direction.
Just tell me this. Is that first picture real? Not altered?
Did those women really do that to themselves?
What is it that we need to tell ourselves that (imho) we (the selfies) are not listening to?
Exclusive!
As I've said before, it's like the neon sign in front of the greasy diner. The sign is not appetizing, it just lets you know that they're open for business.
I've always had a thing for thin lips. I like girls with those "whiskey lips."
Thin lips say smart and sexy to me. Big lips look less intelligent, and apparently more now than ever, there may be some truth to that.
This generation of female children are morons. There will be a serious gap filled with idiocy. This generation is lost I think.
I like girls with those "whiskey lips."
Me too.
Sigourney Weaver, Pat Benetar & Helen hunt.
If you google "whiskey lips" you get no pics of what I always thought that term meant. Even if you google "thin lips" you get nothing. All you get with either is how to make you lips fatter. It's epidemic!
Women with thin lips would be like Kate Hudson, Sandra Bullock, Courteney Cox, etc, but I bet even these girls have all had some silicone added. Too bad.
Yea, Sigourney Weaver is a perfect example. It's a hot look, but it looks mature and smart, and that's not in right now. It seem that what's is in is to look like an infant. No hair, big eyes, fat lips, and lots of whining.
The new mother, wife of the prince of England too has small upper lip.
I forget her name.
She gives the prince no lip.
You know, not to change the subject but I have to leave soon and tweeting it takes me forever.
I was watching Obama lay the wreath as presidents do on this day... he stood there for like two seconds.
It occurred to me that it could be like torture for him to have to do that. Pay tribute to the nations heroes. There is no way to know for sure... but, all his actions tell me It's very possible.
There is no other way of putting it.
We have a president that hates this country... is possible that there is a connection to the lip selfie thing we are talking about too.
Image, liberty, our past, is all wrapped up, somehow, in the seemingly innocuous act of taking a selfie.
Lem. I never saw that side of him before well into his first term, and I had hope for him early on, but I really have grown to despise the man, because of what he says and how he acts. I think he's become an embarrassment, and at this point, people defending him are embarrassing themselves. It turns out that he was worse than just unqualified, and that's as nicely as I can put it.
I second Father Fox's question. I can't believe the girls in the first photo disfigured themselves to that extent. Say it ain't so.
I'm not saying it wasn't there to see before he got elected, but I figured it was just the rhetoric you employ to get ahead in the places he thrived, and that deep down he shared my values at some level. He turns out just the opposite. He doesn't share my values, and the middle-stradling rhetoric is designed to fool me.
Oh yea, and his lips are too thin. Damned half-cracker.
The first photo is a photoshop to diss the big lip craze.
As far as woment doing it to please themselves, yes. I have center brow furrow, especially upon waking, that I loathe. It ages one terribly. I would like to get botox, but I'm afraid of side effects, but worse, afraid of getting hooked on it...as far as not being able to bear the furrow coming back.
Women's lips/faces/breasts thin after menopause due to loss of estrogen.
Didn't a former female commenter here have an avatar that looked like the bottom photo?
I forget her name. I think she lived on a lake somewhere in WI.
I can believe the first photo is real. I also live with a nurse, who once worked at the county hospital ER. There are many things you might never even think or consider that others will do for self-pleasure. Excess botox is very common and fairly tame.
"The first photo is a photoshop to diss the big lip craze."
Deborah, thank you. I actually thought it was real. Because, that could happen. It probably has happened. There's probably a photo just like that one somewhere on the interwebs and it hasn't been photoshopped. [imminent danger Psycho violins.]
They've turned themselves into fictional cartoon characters.
Iiiii gotta be ... somebody else's sick puffy lipped fantasy ....
Armatel, there's definitely a line that can be crossed. There's a funny scene from First Wives Club where Goldie Hawn's character has gotten too much collagen:
Hawn
(Actually, that's the pre too-much collagen scene!)
Won't be long ampersand:
