But you've got the fundamentalist wing of gay advocacy—Rich Ferraro and Andrew Sullivan—they're out there, they've got you. ~Alec Baldwin"Fundamentalist wing of gay advocacy" -- zing!
BTW, why is it that MSNBC is so upset about Baldwin's in-the-street-but-not-off camera remarks but remain non-plussed, non-responsive and unashamed of Martin Bashir's repulsive on-air-and-editorially-blessed-somebody-should-shit-and-piss-in-Sarah-Palin's-mouth remarks?

Wow. Alec said something good. How long before hez forced to apologize?
radical marxist leftists have no sense of hypocrisy or shame. once they target you, they will stop at nothing to see you destroyed.
He's a good actor. Pity about his personality, though.
Because Palin is a Republican woman, not a real person, a target of abuse, not a rational interlocutor. It's perfectly acceptable for gays to hang her in effigy. Because after enduring 400 years of slavery anything goes. *pinkie finger sto corner of mouth, look out corner of eye*
Bashir was following the script.
Miss Sarah stands for everything they hate and stands in the way of their agenda.
She Must Be Destroyed!!!!

No, just average.
The first time I saw him (long before he had any politics), I didn't like him then, either.
Revenant, Correct. He is both a good dramatic and comedic actor. A deplorable human but I will watch his performances and appreciate his talent.

I don't fully buy that, edutcher. I can see the overt academic based-snobbery which gets contemptuously expressed towards other politicians without pedigrees (e.g., Scott Walker), and the ObamaCare lightning rod aspects of Ted Cruz. But the real contempt - based on projected perceived bigotry towards gays - is a complete crock of shit. I could see them expressing that towards Rick Santorum perhaps.
I think what's happened is that the lynch mob mentality that they had towards her in 2008 was never examined - never taken back - never thought through - and so it has to live on at some absurd level in their heads. People like Martin Bashir and his media cocoon enablers need therapy as much as confrontation.
I know many here will disagree, but I think Bashir & his production team are now marked men at MSNBC.
MSNBC won't just come out & fire them, which is what they richly deserve, because doing so would be seen as caving to "the right-wing crazies", but, just watch, there will soon be another reason for MSNBC & Bashir to part company.
I say this because I've observed that MSNBC has taken grief for this all across the media's political spectrum. While the powers at NBC don't give a shit about what the "right-wing nutjobs in flyover country" think, they do care about what their fellows think, and their fellows think that this crossed a big red line for scripted news.

Saying they need therapy lets them off the hook. They're not mentally ill. They are simply frozen in time and are quite happy to be so. I've known many people who decided in their teens that they were on the side of right and those who disagreed with them were not only wrong, they were either evil or sub-human or both and deserved everything Bashir prescribed for Palin. They are thoughtless. And utterly convinced that they are noble and good. Neither therapy nor confrontation will do any good. Effective opposition can only come in the form of exposing what they are and the horror of where they're taking us to the millions who are not them, the millions who are not ideologues, the millions who are apolitical.
1) Bashir did apologize, and it was a good one.
2) Baldwin doesn't do apologies, and sooner or later they knew they would need one.
3) Baldwin sucks and would never get ratings even by MSNBC standards which is like nobody watching.
4) Apparently Baldwin is a genuine asshole and very unpleasant to work with, and ain't nobody got time for dat. This is also why Olbermann was sent packing. Being an ass at work is probably the most dangerous career mistake. If the boss doesn't get you, a fragging will.
5) Probably most important was Baldwin's insult was friendly fire, and Bashir insulted the enemy.
Alec Baldwin is like most Irish white guys from Long Island.
A fucking moron of the first water.
The funny part is that he is the best of all his brothers.
Have you ever seen Stephen Baldwin on the Celebrity Apprentice?
No that is assholery of almost a genius level.
@Trooper,
Alec Baldwin is like most Irish white guys from Long Island.
Are there any Irish non-white guys from Long Island or anywhere else?
I've long heard of the "black Irish", but I thought it meant somethin' else entirely.
But, then, I'm from northern Alabama. What the fuck do I know about all this ethnic booyah?
