What a shock when John Ritter suddenly died. He had much more range than just the charming young guy in Three's Company. Really funny as the department store exec in Bad Santa trying to keep a lid on things.
I chuckled w/ the "bouncy, bouncy" tag. I take our granddaughter, Gianna, to an indoor park on rainy or cold days. They have a bouncy house she calls, "bouncy, bouncy." The kid will stay in there all day if you let her. There's other fun things that she likes but she loves bouncy bouncy.
ric, He and Billy Bob Thornton were friends. When Billy started talking to the Ritter character as Carl, Ritter couldn't stop laughing. He thought it was a gag, then worried how he would contain himself when he learned it was not a gag.
The eighties? Looks more like the late 70s to me. Jack having to pretend to be gay so landlord Mr. Roper would let him stay with the two gals. Now they'd all just sue Roper for discriminating. They would own the building. Name that early eighties sitcom where two dudes had to dress as women in order to find a place to stay. Starred a multiple Oscar winner. Apparently there was a major housing shortage for straight guys back in the day/burning need for an excuse to put men and women in the same lodgings for comedy purposes.
Bobby V, whose bouncy bouncy goes back to 1960, is now 83 and still bouncing around, married to the same woman for 56 years. Listening to that song brings me back to the strangeness of that time period.
In the Wayne vignette categtory: Vinton also appeared in a couple of John Wayne films, “Big Jake” and “The Train Robbers.” He became close to John Wayne. “He was the greatest,” Vinton said of Wayne. “It’s still feels strange to say this, but I was close friends with John Wayne – the Duke. That means so much to me. He would come to my house for dinner. We would hang out together. Do you know how cool it is to walk into a department store with John Wayne? Wow.”
Interesting vignette MM. I can't imagine John Wayne bouncing like a rubber ball back to one of his hot blooded wives after a fight but perhaps that song described it perfectly for him.
