I have no illusions that happiness is temporary.

Minnesotans must have infected those of us in northern Iowa with that way of speaking. Oh well, can't complain. That's life, better than the alternative.

That's different

There are certainly similarities between Cheeseheads and Gophers. They share phrases like, "I suppose," a generic response to almost any statement or question directed at you, and "over by" as in, "I was over by Target and saw a deer run across the road." This guy does a good job capturing the tenor of Gophers. In personality, Gophers are like Cheeseheads, nice, but not gushing like those in Wisconsin. And, while proud of Minnesota, Gophers don't tend to feel compelled to either announce their home states by their apparel, or announce verbally, "Yeah hey, we're from Wisconsin, hope you got as lotta brandy in stock!" And, on the topic of booze, Minnesota is not an alcoholic state like Wisconsin. Just a few observations having now lived in both states. I like Minnesota much more than Wisconsin.

Please don't take this personally, chick. I swear this is not a personal attack on you, just my honest thoughts on a post that warrants the comparison.

Yeah, well, I lived in Minnesota before I moved to Wisconsin, and I like Wisconsin more than Minnesota.

Allen, That's why they make more than just chocolate and vanilla ice cream. If I remember correctly, you're originally a Wolverine? Where does that state rank?

The Twins are giving your Brewers fits. Maybe that will change @ Miller Park.

AllenS said...

I'm sorry to say that the Brewers have absolutely collapsed. Things were going great before the All-star game.

I have never been to either Minnesomalia or Wisdrunksin, but of the two I prefer the Mississippi Delta more than its headwaters.

Sixty, You have an open invite to visit the headwaters. I have a route I walk along the Mississippi and walk over the great American river on a bridge over to St. Paul. I think you might like this area, at least for a visit.

On the topic of Somalis, there was a pipe bomb thrown @ a mosque here. I think it smells like a setup. The timing, no video, and a guy in a pickup truck[stereotype] makes me think it was self inflicted and victimology. We'll see.

Nick, read the St Paul paper this morning, and Keith Ellison called it “an outrage” Wednesday that President Donald Trump hasn’t condemned this attack. I agree with the setup possibilities.

Here is the article. Check out the comments. People are having none of Ellison's bullshit --

Allen, Wow! Thanks. The comments show how people, not the MSM, think.

Allen, There was the construction explosion @ the Minnehaha Academy[I heard it 3 miles away] that killed 2 white people. The Somalis are like the spoiled child acting up when his friend gets some attention.

AllenS said...

Yeah, the explosion at the Academy was figured out soon, that it was the father/son construction company at fault. A true accident.

So little damage was done at the Somali place, that it looks like an idiot Somali did the blast.
