Is the IRS Scandal About to Break Wide Open?

Via InstapunditIn a lawsuit involving True the Vote, Judge Reggie B. Walton of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ordered the IRS last week to release the names of employees involved in targeting conservative and Tea Party groups. Walton also told the IRS to explain why groups were targeted and search for additional records in agency databases from May 2009 to March 2015.

The IRS has until Oct. 16 to complete its records search.

Walton's order was a turning point for True the Vote President Catherine Engelbrecht in her legal battle with the IRS that began in 2013.

"We've come so far, and I believe that we are going to bring this thing to a head," Engelbrecht told the Washington Examiner. "I believe we will see the IRS correct its ways, and as to accountability, I'd love to see some perp walks."

But she and her lawyer, Jim Bopp, are preparing for the IRS to drag out production of the names and documents.

We'll see.

I think this is why Trump is moving quickly, but quietly, to get his kind of jusges installed.

I'll believe it when it happens, and not before.

Riiiiight. As if the IRS does not already have all these pertinent documents prepared to hand over- its been years since they knew this day would come. At least those documents that were not purged and destroyed previously.

No one will go to jail over this, no one will get fired, no one will lose their pension, it will just make them smarter criminals next time.

It has taken far too long as it is. And consider how much the plaintiffs have had to front in legal fees. They're well funded but what happens to regular people who are hounded by this power and money mad agency which brazenly flouts any rule that might lead to accountability. How is Koskinen still at the helm and Lois Whatsername still running free? If they were Republicans they would be in jail. Any Republican, including RINOs, which they might want to consider before continuing to cover for these creeps. Really the only reason this is an issue right now is because the judge finally FINALLY got upset about being treated with contempt. They upset the judge! Now maybe we'll get some justice? I doubt it!

It's a good thing Trump fired Koskinen his first week in office.

Wouldn't have changed much. Doubtless, the IRS was packed with Pissytrons to handle IdiotCare.

I've read that they're hiring people back! People who are known to be cheaters, conservative profilers and other bad actors. WHY?
This seems crazier than usual so I leave open the possibility that this is an outrage clickbait story.

I've ranted and asked this question before, but no one can answer me on why Koskinen is still employed much less at the IRS? Why?

Meth, I could give you Ed's answer again; but probably like you, I wouldn't see much value in it. Keeping Koskinen doesn't sound like super stealthy backdoor scheme to me. And getting rid of Koskinen and replacing with someone conservative would mean hiring and other HR decisions being controlled by someone else. Hell, changing Koskinen out with some Democrats might even add a bit of respect. Next to Hillary's irresponsibility with classified data; Koskinen is one official I really believe deserves to be in jail. Alas, Trump has kept him, and no one has a reasonable explanation for it. The GOP Congress isn't even bitching about it.

Official end date of Commissioner Koskinen's term is November 12, 2017.

Koskinen is a member in good standing and valuable minion of the Deep State. He is invulnerable.

Who precisely is going to hold him to account?

Paul Ryan? Mitch McConnell? The media?

Don't make me laugh.

President Trump is the only one who could do anything. But he has so much on his plate that he is distracted. Now General Kelly is restricting the flow of information to his desk. The people who would have brought it to his attention are the Nationalists. Steve Bannon. Gorka if it was foreign policy.

They were all fired. Ed says that is no big deal. That all is good.

Ya see what I mean?

Classic Baghdad Ed today. Classic.

Somebody tell the weed wacker that Trump wants to win these cases and has 100 vacancies he can fill with his kind of people. That's how you win. By getting rid of the hard Lefties. But nd just plays syncophant and shoots off his mouth.

Nevertheless Troop indavertently raises a good question. Bannon and Gorka and all their minions were there 8 months.

Why didn't they demand Koskinen be fired?

Enquiring minds want to know.
