For Mel B, sequins speak louder than words.
The “America’s Got Talent” judge wore a dress that might have been a message to her estranged husband Stephen Belafonte at the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night: the skin-tight sheath was emblazoned with the phrase “You Will Never Own Me.”
The striking ensemble also boasted a giant eyeball on her behind.
Mel B, 42, real name Melanie Brown, accused Belafonte, 42, of domestic violence and sexual exploitation following her initial divorce filing in March. Though he vehemently denied the allegations, the former Spice Girl requested the case against Belafonte be sealed to protect their young daughter, Madison, 5.
“While [Stephen] may enjoy the media attention, the minor child of this marriage did not ask to be placed in the center of this mounting storm,” Mel B said in court documents obtained by TMZ.
Mel B may also have to testify about her sex life, which includes an alleged threesome with ex-nanny Lorraine Gilles and Belafonte. Gilles sued her former employer for libel after Mel B claimed Belafonte got her pregnantand forced her to have an abortion.
The singer recently walked off the set of her NBC talent competition after fellow judge Simon Cowell made a crude joke about her wedding night. Mel B poured a glass of water on Cowell, 57, before storming off the stage.
