Don't know why, but Les Grossman is one of the best and funniest characters I've seen. I'm sure someone that just hates Tom would disagree. But everybody I showed that seen to, who hadn't previously seen it, laughed very loudly and had to look twice to believe that was Tom Cruise.
I complain about Leonardo DiCaprio, because I can't see any of movie of his without seeing him as an actor pretending to play the role he is cast in. In Tropic Thunder, I don't see Tom Cruise. I see Les Grossman. For all his faults, and Tom Cruise has many; he is a good actor that can make a believable character.
One time I was changing out the alternator in my Cutlass and reached a point where I got stuck. Really stuck. I hated doing this but I went inside and asked my dad to help.
My dad loves working on automobiles. He always wanted us to take care of our own cars. He really did try to teach me but some things just don't sink in that well. He said, "Bobby, I told myself I'm not going to do this anymore. But this one time I'll come out and help you."
I was immensely grateful.
In helping me he realized to both our amazement that the front of the bolt that holds the alternator onto its bracket is in American sizes while the nut that screws onto it is in metric. Both of have have never seen a bolt with an American head but with metric threads. Or something. It blew our minds. And pissed off my dad.
The alternator was heavy. It was very difficult holding it with one hand and dealing with the very odd bolt and nut with the other hand. I could not do it. I did not have the physical strength required to do that simple thing. And I looked at my dad's hands doing something that my hands could not do and I was filled with awe. True awe. His hands are old. And fat. And wrinkled. And work-worn. And damaged. They are not artistic hands. Similar to what you imagine a farmer's. I studied my dad's hands as he worked and amazed me doing what I couldn't do. He impressed me greatly. I took a very long moment the whole time he worked staring and admiring his hands to fix the picture in my mind. It is a beautiful picture of a really nice and clean engine that fills the frame and jutting into the mechanics and machinery and technology, iron, wires, pipes, belts and tubing, and pressure are an old man's hard wrinkled hands. It is a mental picture that is locked in my mind. It is my dad's art. And the picture is alive and it will live in my mind as long as I do. It is my personal treasure. My dad's hands.
And now my hands are beginning to resemble his. They are no longer the artistic hands of youth. They are becoming wrinkled and fatter.
Leland, Tropic Thunder was a great movie and Tom's Cruise's Les Grossman was hilarious (especially when he is yelling like a mad man at the Laoatian drug bandits).
I'm not going to pay to watch, but I'm rooting for the underdog. I think the outcome of the fight could be today and tomorrow's trigger du jour for TDS.
I am going to guess Mayweather wins because boxing rules favor him over McGregor, but McGregor is younger and a tough SOB. So we will see. I do not feel inclined to drop $100 to see the fight.

So who wins the fight, McGregor or Mayweather?
The Chinese military has determined that half of the young men in that country are not fit to serve because of two reasons.
Fat hands covers both reasons. I have those problems too but I'm too old to get drafted.

When Mayweather stop beating his wife?
