I agree with you about today's American women being nothing but gold diggers. This song, like it or not though, came from a bygone era before feminism destroyed any decency women had. Today? Forget it!

@Chip: You see, I have every song in my iTunes tagged with its year. That's why I haven't updated iTunes in 5 years. They want to destroy that handiwork.
After watching a couple of Jacques Tati movies I could understand why them there froggies loved Jerry Lewis. Jacques Tati was a great mime and he could tell a story without using words.
Jerry Lewis was like a low-rent spazzed out version of Jacques Tati, only more maudlin and less classy.

I can tell from the way he holds the stick in his left hand that Gary Lewis was classically trained. No tub-thumper, he.

Lewis' song antedates your comment by at least a decade, Chip.
I forget how young you are.

Hal Blaine actually played drums on the recorded version. The Wrecking Crew strikes again!
"The late Bruce Gary, who played drums for the Knack, once said he was disappointed to find out that his 10 favorite drummers were all Hal Blaine."
And there you have it.
Somewhat OT Great moments in Fake news
CNN says the Jerry Lewis who died was Jerry Lee Lewis.
Ed, That is an interesting link. Thanks.
I saw The Killer in KC in 1980. Still a showman.
Maybe the French mistook Jerry Lewis for Jerry Lee Lewis n'est-ce pas?
