I thought Doris Kearns Goodwin was our foremost historian. Either one is a Lefty jerk writing fluff.
But did April know her wet dream accepted a ride on Air Force One yesterday? And I can't recall him saying anything about Pissy's shameful performance. I guess he couldn't stand to fly back with the peons.

Obama-Gruber-Care is all based on lies. Why doesn't anyone write about that monster?
A great many people have, dear. Since before it was enacted.
If these pundits were the least bit neutral and also pointed out how fucking crooked and corrupt Clinton was too, I might pay attention to their points. They are just preaching to their own choir.
I have read this mooks books and they are highly subjective and poorly researched. Not worth it. He got all those awards because he is an ultra liberal douche bag.
Supreme court political neutrality is bs... it has been for years.
Look up Roger Taney.
If he doesn't pick Newt, it will be a serious blow in my view. Picking Newt could go a long way towards assuaging a lot of people's fears.
Newt will be his eminence grise and his Congress expert. He's got too much baggage and he can be his own worst enemy to be VP.
Some Conservatives think Pence is a wuss because he caved the the LBGTQWERYUIOPASDFHJKZXCVNM crowd in their eyes, but, in a year when homosexuals are reassessing who their friends are, that could be a plus.
The war for religious rights will be won on the street. We are way past the time that the courts or government will protect your religion. That ship has sailed.
Can't see how. First, he couldn't even carry his home state (I grant you some of that may be because (someone) played the same dirty trick on him they played on Carson in IA, so we'll never know), which is always bad, but the killer is being front man for the Gang of 8. A lot of people will never forgive him for that.
Ever.
If Trump wanted to be a good guy, he could give him a job in the Administration, not too high up, and give him a chance to rehabilitate himself.
PS It's McCullough, not Kennedy, as in Flint, who died a few months ago.

You have to realize that Trump is not a social conservative. He is not really pro-life. He doesn't have a problem with the homosexuals or gay marriage.
Trump seemed to start changing his mind on things, particularly abortion, about 5 years ago - good Coulter piece on that - as he saw what the Obamanation had wrought.
I agree he is tolerant of homosexuals, but as people, which I don't consider an evil thing.
I'm sure, as a businessman, he picks his fights carefully.
I just think that people who hate Trump point out his positions that are not Conservative Orthodoxy and think we are going to run like we saw a vampire or something. Because you know what? I think a lot of these politicians that sell "conservative values" don't really believe in them the way social conservatives do. That includes the Newts and the Paul Ryans and the Mitch McConnells. They pretend to be conservative but never can seem to pull the trigger to get conservative principles enacted into law. They don't even try anymore just tell us we need to control both houses and the Presidency before they will even try.
Much the same as most Trump supporters I support him because of his positions on immigration, trade and the need to stop endless wars and needless conflicts to puff up the keyboard commandos like Bill Kristol and Jonah Goldberg. Trump is a mixture of positions and I don't agree with all of them. But he is right on the big things. Immigration. Trade. A new America First Foreign Policy. Good enough for me.
two white hairs. No no no. Plus Pence is from a safe red state - so what is the point? Trump needs to add someone who is dynamic and articulate, and who can pull in a swing state. A young black or Hispanic would be helpful. A black conservative like Allen West would be great. That would help him more than anything.
I heard Flynn on the radio yesterday - that guy is NOT articulate.
Rubio would be a disaster. He doesn't bring Hispanics. The VP doesn't really bring anything to a ticket. It can only hurt it. Sweaty foolish Little Marco would be the second coming of Dan Quayle.
Flynn would check off some boxes like foreign policy experience but is not vital to a win. He was always a long shot.
Newt is the most capable but brings too much baggage and controversy. Still I kind of think he will be the pick in the end.
Christie never had a chance. He will have a job in the administration. He just has to be sure to bring his shine box.
I guess Tom Cotton and Joni Ernst both bowed out. I am sad because I think either of them would have been a good pick.

He was articulate enough on the talking heads Sunday to even impress the Lefties.
As for gray hairs, what do you think Cacklepants and Fauxcahontas are?
Pence is an OK choice. As Troop implied, he would be Trump's Bush to his Reagan, more to make the party happy.
A young black or Hispanic is going to do zip to attract votes for Trump and regional candidates don't swing states anymore. They haven't for 25 years.
It's the policy that does that.

Quayle wasn't that bad, but the media saw him as an up-and-comer and figured they had to destroy him, much like Chuckie and Marco.
Marco, though, would be the only one who could actually hurt Trump and, for that reason, goes nowhere.
Newt is the most capable but brings too much baggage and controversy. Still I kind of think he will be the pick in the end.
As I say, he is his own worst enemy. For that reason, I don't think he'll make it.
Christie never had a chance. He will have a job in the administration. He just has to be sure to bring his shine box.
He was a pretty good prosecutor. I could see him helping clean up (and out) Justice.
I guess Tom Cotton and Joni Ernst both bowed out. I am sad because I think either of them would have been a good pick.
Don't know about Cotton. Maybe there was a falling out. He may still get something.
Possibly Trump saw pitfalls in a first term Senator.
Ernst said she wanted to do right by her state, although there are voices already calling her another Ellmers. We'll see.
Marco would be a fantastic disaster. He is the Ricky Martin of Presidential candidates. In every sense of the Ricky Martin. Just sayn'
It is cheap affirmative action bullshit to name a black or Hispanic to the ticket. No black or Hispanic voter is going to vote for Trump because he has one of theirs as a VP. That is just old fashioned bullshit. The only way a minority voter is going to pull the lever for Trump is if he believes in his programs. Especially trade, immigration and jobs. The VP pick don't mean jack.
He just doesn't need to make a Thomas Eagleton type error.
McCullough's books are readable. I thought his bio of Truman was excellent. He's also blessed with a crisp speaking voice. He sounds wise and kind. I hope Hillary picks him as her running mate and assigns him to deliver all her speeches....There's no reason to believe that historians are any better judges of how currents events will play out than the rest of us. In fact there's reason to believe that people who write books get a lot of things wrong.
Speaking of history, Pissy is inviting Deranged McKesson and a few more BlackLives vermin to the Rainbow House tomorrow "designed to help mend frayed ties between law enforcement and the communities they serve".
Whomever the new occupant may be, they might want the place fumigated.
Somehow Cotton dropped out of the picture. That's fine, though. Leaves him free to run for president next election. To preside over the smoldering ashes of whatever happens in November.
Not sure if Rubio is emotionally up for Trump VP pick. Also not sure what he brings to the table. Open to thoughts on the topic but just not seeing it happen.
Oh, right, the topic of the post: America's Next Top Historian Doesn't Like Trump. Haven't read him other than skimming at bookstore. I buy his books for old people in the family. They seem to like them. Don't care about and don't need to know about his personal opinions about Trump or anything else. Always a little surprised when people just vomit this information up for no apparent reason. It's fine to do it among friends (or here where we all battle for fun) but in a random newsflash? Uh, self-regard much? Trying to work up popularity on the cocktail circuit? Dude, your neediness is showing and it's rawther off putting.
"Whomever the new occupant may be, they might want the place fumigated."
I'd take it down to the studs and build out from there. Probably no budget for that, though, what with the doubling of the debt. Definitely have it debugged at minimum and sprayed for mold.

Talk about boobs.
Pence is meeting the clan today.
Ordinarily, I'd say he's got it, but I have a feeling Ivanka's word could kill it.
Surber has a good piece on it.
I'd still like to see Flynn if not Sessions, but what could be sweeter than helping The Donald and getting his old job back as a reward?
Speaking of history and stuff, Pissy, Sharpton, Holder, and Louie Farrakhan will be sued for aiding and abetting race attacks and murder.
Thank you, Larry Klayman.

Whatever happened to Cotton? LOL.
Cotton is speaking at the convention in support of Trump in a prime time slot. Who knows that might be the prelude to him being the VP.
You can't believe the sleazy press.
You know, that's been running through my mind.
Not necessarily Cotton, but the idea Trump is giving the media a few wild geese to chase.
Maybe he's going to go w/ Pence, only it's Hunter Pence.
If you've read his book on Truman, its obvious that McCullough is a total liberal/Democrat.
Why maintain the air of neutrality, when all the "Right" people have decided that Trump is the wrong sort, and not "our kind of people"?
More evidence that Trump is a traitor to his class.
Robert Costa is reporting Trump will appear w/ VP pick @ 11a Friday.

His book on Teddy was abominable. I am sort of Teddy scholar and I thought he got a lot wrong.
Look for corrections in my novel about Teddy as Police Commissioner where he puts down a riot in Harlem. With cannons.
