I always assumed it was someone taking an interest and reading a bunch of posts. Or someone found something they like and posted to facebook. You might be able to tell by poking around more in google stats.
Nah - my blog went batshit crazy a few months ago - went from 2,500 page views a day to 50k in one day. Google says it's russian bots. Who does/creates stupid shit like that? WTF is the point in doing it in the first place?
And right on cue, 9 more shitposts. I am detecting a trend.
