Spirited Away

Most of the commentary videos about this film are goofy.

Most are by women. I think women like this film a lot more than men do.

People who are into the creator of this film tend to like his other work more than this one.

There are several things about this film that make it a lot different from regular films. It's considered a masterpiece.

Ebert acknowledges that Hayao Miyazaki wrote the film because the daughter of one of his friends was disaffected and distant from her family while on vacation.

Actually, it was the girl and her friends. The girls were remote and uninterested in family activities. Being around the girls really bummed him out. He wrote his story as one girl instead of the group. His character is the amalgamation of traits that separate the young girls from their families and the trials in store for each of realizing that and coming back to their families.

I never knew it was more popular with females than males.

I have no idea, actually. It's about a girl. And based on YouTube videos females appreciate it more. Females have the most thoughtful videos on YouTube. The ones by males are goofy. The ones by females are love-letters.

There are a lot of musical things too.
