The man who cried dog. Emotionally manipulating your dog .... Sad! (Disapproval.) No harm, no foul, though. You can get away with it because most dogs are so forgiving and sweet, and so pleased with themselves when they succeed.
I'd like to see how the dog responds to a situation in which the owner is experiencing real tears along with the energy that accompanies a sense of sadness and loss rather than this contrived situation with fake howling
I watched for 37 seconds before the incongruency dampened my interest and I fast forwarded through the rest. Why do I want to watch someone goof around with a dog online in a contrived situation that doesn't do justice to the topic when I've experienced the real thing in real life?
Our chocolate lab was extremely sensitive and responsive to my moods and affect as he spent the major part of his day with me. So is our old cat, who is seldom far from me, following me from room to room to sit, perch or sleep nearby. Animals who are relationally attuned to their primary caregivers are able to read energy and sign and respond as they are able Their desire to engage and connect can show up through pawing, rubbing, sitting atop or near, laying their head alongside, calling, inviting play or offering a favorite toy. They are tuned to mood/energy shifts and changes.
This morning I received a text from MrM that said: "Did you know that it is the Big Dog's birthday--Fat Tuesday! I hadn't remembered but did with fondness at his mention.
For the Good Dog Action Jackson, whose birth eighteen years ago on a Fat Tuesday changed and blessed our lives in ways we could not have imagined, providing us with the brown glue of unconditional love and companionship that held us together and helped us through the dark days to better times.
My sorrows Distressed him My sadnesses Overwhelmed him. Arguing, contention and animosity Sent him to the door Preferring to wait Outside Until the storm Was over.
Who knew He'd be the one To open the door Of grief for me On his way out Inviting the release Of tears and pain Held fast Inside For years under Lock and key?

I get the sense the dog is not faked out and wants in on the game. Clearly the dog wants to play and is not showing sympathy.

Dogs and cats are the best. I watched none of that video as I don't like to witness the teasing of animals.
