One last mission with George H.W. Bush

Sully, President' George H.W. Bush's service dog, hasn't left the side of his master.

The 2-year-old golden retriever will accompany Bush's casket on the flight to Washington, D.C.

I wonder if the dog is named after Lawrence Sullivan Ross?

Nope, dog is named after Chesley Sullenberger.

Best comments I read in response to someone doubting whether the dog knew his master was in the casket, involved the fact that no one viewing the photo knew who was in the casket or where George Bush actually went.

Posed or otherwise its a poignant photo, a reminder of the distancing that results when death occurs.

On my end, I choose to believe the dog is keenly aware of a significant change in setting, emotional energy and relationship.
