Brit Hume: Trump is in the process of blowing up conservative base.

Hume is siding with conservative hawks who see withdrawal from Syria as a serious mistake. They're against Trump fulfilling one of his campaign promises.

Let's play 'Spot the critical error in Hume's thinking.'

His labeling system is damaged.
“Trump forgets his base is populists and conservatives.”
This here's whatcha call false dichotomy. Necessary to be so wrong.

Perhaps a Venn diagram might be useful, one in which all of the so-called populists that elected Trump are conservatives and a thin sliver of conservatives are elitists who insist life-long engagements of minimal forces is necessary for national defense where a border barrier against worldwide free movement of labor is not, and with no mandate to destroy armies and return victorious. But without the guts to proclaim so in Congress, leaving such matters to the Executive branch. If this is believe so strongly, then forget Trump and declare so in Congress. That is, put up or shut up.

Trump should respond to Hume with: "Make my day."

With IS cut by 99%, why shouldn't we go home?

The Republicans have done to "Conservative" what the Democrats have done to "Liberal". Both are meaningless words. One of the main things they conserve are the big government setups that one or the other parties implement.

At least the Democrats have changed to calling themselves "Progressives" by which they'll take us back to 19th century politics and economics on a streetcar. The "Conservatives" are too conservative to think of a more appropriate moniker.

I predicted when Obamacare passed the Republicans would never dump it when they got back in power. Their track record is unblemished.
