monkey trap

Did you ever think whoever invented this HTML code is totally Brillo pads? I mean, come on, it's so Elly gent. I think he's still alive and going, "Yeah, that's me. I did that."

If you follow the link you'll see cartoons of monkeys and a few real monkeys. I love those little poo throwers. And there's even a drawing of this exact thing.

The NFL is caught in a monkey trap.

That might be racist.

OT. I would like to tell you all this.

I was in Barcelona the last couple of days, and am in Bilbao this evening as I write this. The Catalonian referendum going on today has interesting parallels. The Catalans consider themselves the moral and intellectual betters in this affair, and would not as a first consideration embark on violence to achieve their end, which is a country independent from Spain. Like California, they believe they contribute much more to Spanish wealth than they receive. They are especially angry in the Madrid government's attempts to de-legitimize the vote, and they also see Madrid as seeding factions that would create violence that would then be blamed on the Catalons.

Late in the evening as we walked through downtown to the subway we saw young men spraying swastikas on the independence posters. It wasn't quite as it seemed though, the swastika labeling was being done by the anti-referendum crowd, accusing the Catalon independence movement of being fascists. There may be truth to this, my host and good friend says. Catalons blame Madrid for this defacement.

Two evenings ago we walked through the very narrow streets of old Barcelona and our host pointed upward 4 stories above our heads, in the exact area that George Orwell described the fighting on the rooftops between, what my friend claimed to be between Trotskyites and Leninists, while below on the street folks (Orwell noted) continued to promenade, eat, drink, and talk about the politics of the day. Just as we were doing 2 nights ago.

We were blown away be Barcelona. It is a most amazing and delightful place.

Tonight Bilbao staged an evening march in sympathy to the Catalon vote today, marching over the bridges and banging pans and blowing whistles but otherwise silent, beneath our window. But by 10PM they disbanded and went home, as tomorrow is a work day.

When I watched this video something tiny jumped out at me like a monkey and banana inside a gourd.

A tiny symbol.

And that led to connections to other entirely unrelated tiny symbols in other areas of the cortex while still being the exact same thing. Like they all suddenly reaffirmed each other.

At the 14 second mark, where there guy goes, "What's that?" And the other guy says, "gold."

The words on the bottom white with blue background say 12.5kg, as you know, 27.5 LBS. MATHS! Not so heavy, actually.

To the right of that, the symbol that looks like a house means "gold." It also means "Friday."

Now, did you ever imagine that you'd know a regular bloke who knows so much esoteric horse shit such as this? I learned that when I was ten. And it stuck this whole time. Other kids learned it too. But it failed to stick because it has no purpose and those kids were not interested.

So now, guess what the first picture means. Come on, guess. GUESS I SAID!

"Pure." Obviously. Duh.

Go on, look them up in images and see that I'm telling the truth. Look up in images, [kanii, gold] and [kanji, friday] and [kanji, pure]

Or, you can be like my parents, shrug your shoulders, and just take my word for it. Because you'll get tired of looking things up just to check, and upon seeing I'm correct, then going, "Well son of a bitch, the kid's right."

But I like the Egyptian sign for "pure" better because it's a better more attractive, more unique, whacky picture.

This is just whacked.

"Pure" in Egyptian hieroglyphs is sideways bottom leg and foot with sideways pot on top with zig-zaggy water pouring out of it. It's fun to draw. It's derived from their sed priest's purification ritual. And it's seen in art, all the time.

ALL the f'k'n time. It's essential. The priest washes the hands of the pharaoh ritualistically all the time.

While the ASL sign is less interesting than both of those other ones. It's the palm of the dominate hand wiping clean the palm of the other hand. It's the same sign as "clean."

This insanely interesting set of unique perceptions is brought to you by Chip Ahoy Enterprises and the ideas expressed here are unaffiliated with this network.
