McCain's a guaranteed spite vote against the tax cuts. Add obvious Dem in Disguise Collins of Maine and Trump doesn't get anything done before the 2018 elections. I read that Trump is actively wooing two or three Democrat Senators in Red States, can't think of their names, who are up for reelection in '18. That's his ONLY hope. It's gonna be a considerably watered down bill if he gets it through but he's GOTTA get it through or lights out.
Something to remember about Songbird. Apparently, he conned himself into believing he could beat his cancer at first. Then somebody made him face facts.
"A glioblastoma is the most common brain tumor that affects adults. It is also the most rapidly growing malignant tumor of the brain, with the shortest survival rate. Death may occur within months." The Blonde, who worked oncology for 5 years, says it's a ghastly way to go.
So his vote, which should be disallowed because he isn't in his right mind, may not come.
He'll have to be carried out on a stretcher before he'd be prevented from voting. Even then, he could vote by proxy from his bed. Highly doubtful anyone will try to declare him incompetent. Best to The Blonde.
I'm not so sure Trump or the GOPe, but generally, I think you are right. Right now, the only thing that will get me to the poll in 2018 is that Ted Cruz will be on the ballot for Senator. If it was Cornyn, I'd stay home (or maybe even help his opponent).

Songbird is an againster - you say, "up"; he says, "down".
He's had a big problem with authority his whole life. Authority was the guys in the Hanoi Hilton, the Republican party, the President, any President.
Add that to the fact he is as vindictive as they come and will do anything he feels like.
IIRC his father was an admiral. Plus the Irish or Scotch Irish thing.
