This took me back to recall the first time our family flew in a jet together. It must have been interesting for them, so I interrogated that. I was interested in the boy's point of view. Did they look out the window? Did they see the ground below? How did it feel taking off? Did the plane shake? Did their ears pop? Could they get out of their chairs. Did they get served a meal? How did it feel to land? Was it fun? Do they want to do it again?
My brother said he sprung it on them the night before so they wouldn't get bent out of shape waiting in a state of heightened anticipation and drive him and his wife nuts. To make their flight they must get up out of bed at 3:00 AM. James said he expected some difficulty with rousing them. When he went into their room to get them out of bed they both took exactly zero time to wake up. They went from dead sleep to wide awake complete alertness in no measurable time. No blinking, no eye rubbing, no grogginess, just sleep/awake. Went like this, "Boys, it's time to wake up and get ready to go fly in an airplane."
Boink.

Hilarious.
Sounds like another "first flight" happened with uncle and nephews, involving receptors wide open and a host of questions.
A double boink in both directions! Two boys experiencing the boink of meeting the wildly predictable and unpredictable Uncle they've previously known through imagination, gifts, voice and word, and that same uncle meeting two joyfully predictable and unpredictable boys, unique and different, yet similar in spirit. Boinkity Boink Boink Boink!
I love it when my nephews come to visit! They're both great kids, in high school now, learning to drive, discovering the world, becoming increasingly interested and interesting, but still boys so they're incredibly fun to have around.
Okay, I have to ask the obvious but off-putting question: why does nephew on the right sport swastika pajamas?!
It's an S for superman inside a shield, pajamas and an arm pit that makes it look like a swastika.
