Back in the 80's I was listening to a political talk show that usually had a Republican and Democrat on to argue the issues. One week the Republican, who's accent was very East coast establishment was appalled at the types of people the Reagan dragged into the party, namely working class whites. Working class whites were told to hit the road by the democrats in the McGovern campaign and basically are unwanted by either party. Both parties work against their interests. Nafta and China trade was originally proposed by Bush the first. He couldn't get it past a democrat congress, but Clinton comes along and embraces those positions and gets them passed. That's why old George loved the Clintons. Then whooosh! The drain of manufacturing leaving this country was exactly what Perot predicted. Then tech and service jobs followed. My own job was sent off to Brazil. Now both parties are telling the white working class to drop dead and except for Trump they have no place to go. I think the French are providing a perfect example of what direction they should turn.
