That's how it goes. One generation leads and invites the next through presence and absence, gifts of attention and the filling of holes resulting from inattention or neglect.
First gift up today was a double crystal solar powered rainbow maker from a grown son who remembered the one my mom had given me years ago when he was little. It scattered moving rainbows on our kitchen walls until the plastic gears in the motor that turned the crystal finally stopped working. Even though I replaced the original twice more myself, there been no moving rainbows for a long while, until today when the possibility of more arrived via an offspring who'd seen, remembered and sprang for another.
