Having just bitched about all of this international messaging in English, I hope she holds a sign in her native language as well.

Awesome! It's a big part of the cure for this disease, and it's about time.

That's funny, she doesn't look like an Allah or Mohammed

Sorry, but I don't know your name. However, because of the headdress, I would imagine it's your religion.

Sweetie, you only prove that if you challenge the crazies. we can't do it all. Somebody on your side has to say, "Enough already".

PS Right up there with BringBackOurGirls

PPS For those who've forgotten, NotInOurName was one of the "anti-war" outfits that called our guys torturers 10 years ago.

Okay, just admit that this takes slightly more social media stamina than making your Facebook photo tri-colored or putting up a stock "Pray for France" post or (goddammit) one that redirects blame (concern trolls about possible backlash against Muslims and/or questioning why we get all worked up about Paris when people in the middle east gets blown up everyday).

It's a baby step but it's in the right direction and that's a blessing.

#BringBackOurGirls (and our balls, if you wouldn't mind) was our GOVERNMENT's social media diplomacy. This is one person and she's out in front of our State Department.

(I am assuming it's one person and not a social media "Muslims, they're just like us" put up job.)

This takes a lot more courage than those other statements that were against peaceful, sane groups who wouldn't kill you for it. In the eyes of radical Islamists she is an apostate for not following the true path. They believe she deserves death. I think the fact that reasonable Muslims, can never really be sure who is among them, or sitting next to them in the mosque makes this kind of thing a lot less common than it might be. I admire and applaud it.

Students or Hollywood celebrities only protest things they all hate openly in one big human centipede reach around.

Then of course, there is the other difference in that this is actually against evil instead of in support of it.

It would take more courage to throw off the hijab and walk to school in a Muslim neighborhood. She's rejecting mass murderers but not the society and values that produce mass murderers.

I don't need her to abandon her religion and start twerking to Charlie Daniels. Just like we don't need the Catholics to give up crosses to get them to throw out the pedophiles. What everyone says is true: most Muslims are peaceful decent people, but they need a reformation and they need to identify and push out the evil that has infected their religion. If that happened, this curse that our world is going to suffer with for a long time could be reduced to a whimper in a few years. So far they have let us all down, but again it is a far more dangerous endeavor to rail against your fellow muslims than to stand up against almost anything else. It really can get you killed.

Just keep them over there and we won't have to worry about #Notinmyname
