Paris commando teams used 5,000 rounds in St. Denis raid

That's a lot of bullets. A lot of lead pollution. If you shot them from one gun continuously the barrel would melt if only the firing mechanisms wouldn't fail first. Can you imagine what that looks like in terms bullet holes in a wall? At first I thought it said six thousand and that's what the anim shows but the news story says 5,000. 1,000 bullet holes over, it's still illustrative.

This here is what could be described as overkill, a disproportionate response, a lack of restraint given the imbalance of power and Israel lives with this every day and does not care to hear another word from Europeans and French and American diplomats about Israel's use of disproportionate force.

Of course they will hear more  words of our positions regarding Israel's disproportionate use of force because we cannot help ourselves. Israel regards us and Europe as hypocritically critical.

All fired up.
Saw on tv in the elevator (MSNBC, of course: Elevator TV News) that the female they got was not actually a suicide bomber.
[Don't know if this is true, if she was perhaps some other sort of aider/abettor, but MSNBC was terribly excited about reporting it.]
France cops are maybe so unused to actually stopping crime (as opposed to cleaning up after it) that they overcompensated?

"I read the news today oh boy
Four thousand holes in Blackburn, Lancashire
And though the holes were rather small
They had to count them all
Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall
I'd love to turn you on"

No wonder it took so long to identify them.

I know everybody thought of the Beatles, but I was first. I promise - no Dylan - ever.

In the immortal words of a great American tactician, "That's a lot of ammunition for men who've been taught to shoot".

The Rangers, and they pretty much set the tactical doctrine in Army spec ops, tell their men keep firing until the bastard goes down.

Of course there were many weapons used, but I saw a lot of what look like Sauer 9mm pistols, so let's say they all were that, and that the slugs were 115gr., so

5000 X 115gr = 82 lbs of lead.

Our EPA kicks their ass at polluting stuff.

This photo is pretty cool for a number of reasons:

Watch out peace, something needs killin'

I love seeing the French all tough like that. Gives me hope.

If you're going to shoot, shoot, don't talk about it.

Even in the American Civil war when they were almost shooting face-to-face it took 100 bullets on average to hit an enemy solider.

BTW, during the battle of Okinawa the US army expended 30 million bullets to kill 100,000 Japanese. That comes to 300 bullets per enemy soldier. They also used 2 million artillery shells. Which the french police didn't have.
