Peanut butter and mustard sandwiches were good. White bread.

7-up in milk? eee.

Brown Cows. During the 70's, we'd sell them in take out paper cups for a $1 to thirsty golfers who'd come in from the course.

A small carton of chocolate milk with coke from the bar hose, over ice.

In the old old days, 7-Up was lithiated, slenderizing, and a hangover cure all in one

I get people from time to time who want a root beer float, only instead of ice cream in it, they want milk. I guess, technically, the appeal of a root beer float is the melted ice cream mixed with the soda, so a root beer and milk mixture simply removes the melting step. Still...that just ain't right.

I went over to the site that the picture came from. They had an ad with a baby drinking out of a 7-Up bottle. Wow. Puts the 1950's in a whole new light.

Root bear floats were great. So were Dr. Pepper floats.

Does anyone drink Kool-aid or Jello anymore?

Its astounding the Junk I ate as a kid:

-Twinkees
-HoHo
-Captain crunch
-Bologna Sandwich (with Miracle Whip)
-Wonder bread
-Soda Pop by the gallon
-Big Macs
-Hot Dogs

Thankfully my daughter avoided all that stuff.

Way back in the late 50's my brother and I would just love a 7 up float. 7up and a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was soooooo goood. Kind of the same idea as in the ad but with ice cream.

rcocean, Black NFL players still drink Kool-Aid. They mix grape Kool-Aid it w/ codeine cough syrup. The street name is Sizurp.

rh, sometimes I like saltine with peanut butter, dipped in A-1 Sauce.

Chick, was that lithiated 7 up like Alka Seltzer, or something?

Speaking of what we lived through, my mom said my formula was condensed milk and corn syrup. I think of all the nitrites and food coloring we were raised on...
