The Maine governor suggested the incident was part of a larger trend of deceit from the Cruz team.
"As we have seen throughout the country, Cruz's national campaign is run by greedy political hooligans,” he said."
The deal was to preserve the delegate balance to reflect the voting in the State, but the Cruz people reneged on the deal and stole the Trump voters delegates.
This is the sleazy character of Cruz. Anything to win. Steal, cheat, lie who knows what. It will NOT play well with the voters. At first, I thought, well if not Trump, I could vote for Cruz. Not anymore. I will never ever vote for Cruz or Kasich or anyone else nominated at a Convention that disenfranchises the votes of MILLIONS of people. Vote for a candidate that is chosen by party insiders who have literally said they want the base of voters who don't support their RINO elitist ways to die.
If I had to guess, I'd say he let Roe run things way too much and it got out of hand. How much his ambition and the whole Dominionist thing played into it, I have no idea.
Right now, he has one last chance to bail while he still has something of his reputation intact.
He will never bail ed. He has never let anything stand in the way of the service of his ambition.
He will try and take the nomination on the second ballot. What he is going to find is that the establishment who is pretending to support him now will bail and bring out their own "unity" candidate. It is a mugs game he is playing.
If he wants to preserve his chances in future elections he needs to rethink his strategy. If Trump hits over 1,150 delegates as he is almost assured of doing and has millions more popular votes and is denied the nomination than that nomination will be worthless.
He thinks he is out front because he is a leader. The Rhinos want him out front as a target. Cruz is being used and refuses to credit it. He is smart guy. I hope he figures it out in time before he destroys his political future forever.

If you were concentrating, why not send Kasich to IN (much better fit) and Cruz out west (he was up in OR a while back and NM, well...).
This will let him bow out with a little (very little) grace.
